During the discussion, it was mentioned that Teresa's stepmother had posted on the Strawberry Zone website to correct some discrepancies regarding Teresa's disappearance. She shared some startling information. Her post can be found here:

By creating a new post for Teresa, I hope that her stepmother will come forward to discuss the status of the case. It does appear that Teresa met foul play. She appears to have been a responsible young adult. She was working, going to school and had her own car. It seems highly unlikely that she would have run away and left her car, belongings and a paycheck behind. It is very troubling that police were so quick to rule her disappearance a runaway case when the three persons Teresa shared a residence with told conflicting accounts of the night she supposedly disappeared.
 
There may be an error in Teresa's age, as reported on the missing websites. I hope a family member will see this post and inform us of Teresa's correct date of birth and age at the time she disappeared so a correction can be made to her missing person pages.

On 5/8/1981, the MP, an 18 year old female, left the residence she was staying at (her boyfriends home). She has not been seen or heard from since.

On 5/9/1981, property of the MP was discovered near a dumpter behind a PayLess Shoestore located at Watt Avenue/Elkhorn Boulevard, in Sacramento.

On 5/10/1981, more property of the MP was discovered in a dumpster behind a grocery store , some of the porperty partially burned.

Details of Disappearance
Hammon was living in her boyfriend's mother's residence in Sacramento, California at the time of her disappearance. She was last seen leaving the house after an argument with her boyfriend on May 8, 1981. She left all of her personal belongings behind, including her vehicle. She has never been heard from again.

Hammon was scheduled to work an early morning shift at the Burger King restaurant at Watt Avenue/Elkhorn Boulevard the following day, May 9, 1981. She never arrived at her employer's and the authorities were summoned to investigate her disappearance.

Articles of Hammon's clothing, purse, makeup and identification were discovered in a dumpster behind of a shoe store across the street from the Burger King the day after she vanished. This was at Watt Avenue and Elkhorn Boulevard.

On May 10, two days after Hammon was last seen, more of her belongings were found in a dumpster behind a grocery store. Some of them had been partially burned.

Hammon's case was originally classified as that of a runaway, but was since changed to a possible homicide by law enforcement. She has never been located and her case remains unsolved.

Circumstances of Disappearance​

Hammon was living in a spare room of her boyfriend's mother's California home in May of 1981. She and her boyfriend had an argument over Mother's Day weekend 1981 and Hammon left the property. She did not take her car and most of her personal belongings were left at the house.

Hammon was scheduled to work at the Burger King in North Highlands, California at 06.00 the next morning. She never arrived for her shift and has not been seen nor heard from again. Hammon's purse, identification, makeup and several items of clothing were discovered shortly after her initial disappearance in a trash dumpster located behind the K-Mart store, which was across the street from the Burger King Hammon was employed.
