When a couple stopped on a county road in Georgia to watch a beaver in a swamp, they discovered a gym bag nearby. Inside that large dark-blue duffel, deputies found human skeletal remains.
That was March 20, 1988. More than two decades later, investigators have now connected the body with a possible murder in Norfolk, Virginia. As the investigation developed, agents said Tuesday the evidence they had strongly suggested Houston was murdered in Norfolk and then driven more than 520 miles south to that swamp. GBI said in a news release the primary focus of the case has now moved to Norfolk as they continue to look into the death of the local woman.
