Appleton police detective Dan Tauber has a message for the person who killed Connie Boelter at her northside duplex in 2006. "Justice is coming," he said.

While an arrest isn't imminent in the long-unsolved case, Tauber and other police officials say the investigation is active on several fronts, including renewed DNA testing of evidence from the crime scene, the availability of more sophisticated analysis by crime lab technicians and ongoing interviews with people who might be able to shed light on what happened to the 56-year-old Boelter on Nov. 15, 2006...

Boelter was found dead in her home in 2006 after she failed to report to work at Wolf River Community Bank in Hortonville. Blunt force trauma to the head was the cause of death. Police have released few details of the crime scene and have been tight-lipped about potential suspects or possible motives.

Gunderson found her mom just hours after someone killed her with blunt force trauma to the head. One of her mom’s co-workers at the former Wolf River Savings and Loan in Hortonville, now the Wolf River Community Bank, had called Gunderson at about 11 a.m. Nov. 15 to say they were worried because she didn’t show up for work.

Just 12 hours earlier, Gunderson had visited her mom’s house. She left the residence after Connie hemmed her grandson’s basketball jersey for the next day.

A retired bank president has emerged as the prime suspect in the 2006 unsolved homicide of Connie Boelter, according to recently unsealed search warrants and subpoenas obtained by USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin.

Police have focused on James K. Olson at least since July 2012...

Investigators discovered Olson had significant debt and appeared to violate bank practices and federal loan requirements... "Based on the fact Connie Boelter entered loans into the general ledger and had concerns over recent loans she discussed with another bank employee days prior to her death, this affiant is concerned there is a connection between unethical banking practices and Connie Boelter's death," Tauber said in the affidavit.

Appleton police held a news conference on Monday afternoon to discuss the case after a USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin report showed officers were looking into a 'suspect' who reportedly worked with Boelter at the Wolf River Community Bank...

"Today, we are not be able to release any specific additional details on the investigation. However, we feel it is important to confirm the report published yesterday is accurate; as it is based on information filed with the Clerk of Court’s Office. We also want to make it very clear this is only a portion of the evidence we have gathered...

"We have not referred any charges at this time, but we can confirm a person of interest has been developed during the course of our investigation."

I wonder if they looked into:
anyone from the other half of the duplex
the landlord if there was one
the neighbors on all sides

I located her obituary which mentioned volunteering “She volunteered for the United Fund in Hortonville, Relay for Life and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.”
