this is scary...I hope their Envoy didn't catch the eye of a punk wannabe, or goodness, they were toting cash to pay for the car.
At least the burner phone is being tracked? Maybe LE can find out more info from Craigslist, as to where the ad originated.
I wonder if the couple left the addy they were going to , at their home?
It's about a 3 hour trip to McRae from Marietta(which is basically a NE of Atlanta suburb), south on 75 to 441, then south

very scary!

Also from the above link, search and rescue teams, including Georgia State Patrol helicopters searched Saturday.
 
(There was a case quite a while back, in Wisconsin IIRC, where an elderly couple just got lost. They were found safe, many hours away from their intended location; they had no phone, and had just gotten way off course. I hope this turns out like this!)

Eta: Many photos of them on facebook. They look like a wonderful couple, grandkids, etc...Bud looks tough to me; I wonder if he is former military, jmo.
 
oh drat their Envoy has(had) analog Onstar, which was never updated to digital, so that can't be activated

oh man I hope someone just dumps them alive and keeps on going if nothing else

So, according to the above article, cellphone data shows they made it to McRae, that their last known location was in McRae at Thursday 5:30 pm.


(I hate cases like this. I am so worried. Their kids must be going crazy right now. Please let Bud and June be safe!! :praying:)
 
I just read about this on FB. As soon as I saw Craig's List, my heart sunk. Praying they're found soon....safe.
 
Ugh, I hope LE can get some sort of electronic footprint from the cl ad, like ip address or something...

Oh gosh, I hope they are okay. They would have called someone if they could.

Sounds like SAR is active, ans they are bringing in helicopter. Cobb County detectives are on it! They will be looking into files and a computer also.
