Guess this deserves its own thread.

Drew Peterson has been charged with trying to hire someone to kill the prosecutor who led the 2012 trial that resulted in the former police officer being convicted of killing his third wife.

State and local prosecutors said on Monday that Peterson is charged with solicitation of murder for hire and solicitation for murder after allegedly trying to hire someone to kill Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow while Peterson was in prison.

The charges relate to the time period September 2013 to December 2014 and a preliminary hearing is set for March 3.

Yup! DP probably is loving the publicity!

So has anyone heard anything from the preliminary or was it postponed?

On Friday, jurors will again file into a courtroom, this time in the tiny Randolph County Courthouse in Chester where Peterson is to stand trial on charges he attempted to find a hit man to kill Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow...

The solicitation-for-murder trial is expected to last about a week, according to a spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office, which is assisting the Randolph County state’s attorney’s office with the prosecution. If convicted, Peterson could face 60 years in prison in addition to his sentence for Savio’s murder.

Drew Peterson guilty in murder-for-hire trial
CHESTER, Ill. — Four years ago, the words of Drew Peterson’s missing wife sent him to prison.
Now, the cocky ex-cop’s own big mouth will keep him there.
It took a downstate jury barely an hour Tuesday to find the former Bolingbrook police sergeant guilty of trying to have Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow killed.

Drew Peterson found guilty of trying to have prosecutor killed
Drew Peterson slouched in his chair at the defense table and rested his head on his left hand, his face dispassionate and devoid of emotion as the judge read aloud the jury's verdict that found Peterson guilty of trying to hire a hit man to kill the prosecutor who put him in prison for murder.
Peterson, 62, faces up to 60 years in prison when he is sentenced in July. The sentence would start after Peterson's 38-year prison term for the 2004 murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Don't know exactly which thread to put this in but Drew Peterson is no longer in IDOC custody and has supposedly been transferred to Federal custody. http://wgntv.com/2017/02/21/drew-peterson-no-longer-in-state-custody-idoc-says/

He is now in federal custody, IDOC spokeswoman Nicole Wilson said. She released the following statement to WGN:"“Drew Peterson has been transferred out of IDOC custody. For safety and security purposes, the IDOC does not discuss details concerning the placement of offenders who are transferred under the terms of the Interstate Compact Agreement.”

I'm so glad he's off denying and has fully embraced his true nature. We all were so tired of the good guy charade.

Can the grandparents petition for see the children?

I don't recall his sentence, however, with his past, and likelihood he will spend the better part of his life in prison, why hasn't his parental rights been taken away?

Federal prison? He must have cancer and Joliet can provide treatment.

I admit it I had no idea about this up until now never did follow this case I was in high school at the time so my mind was else where. Very interesting makes sense since he's arrogant enough to try to pull a stupid stunt like this.
