UNSOLVED VA - Franconia, Human Remains in woods behind townhomes, Feb'15

It is the second time in a week that there’s been a report of remains being found in Fairfax County. The other possible set of remains was found about 20 miles away in Herndon.

The latest discovery occurred Thursday afternoon in the 6700 block of Zohara Court in the Manchester Lakes area of the county. Police said a man was walking his dog around 4:15 p.m. in the woods behind townhouses when he came across “what appeared to be human remains,” police said.

Walker was last seen on October 22, 2003, at her residence in the vicinity of the 3900 block of Old Dominion Boulevard in Alexandria, Virginia. Her family did not report her missing for six weeks because, due to her mental illness, she has a habit of dropping out of sight. Numerous police officers saw her walking in the Arlandria neighborhood in Alexandria in mid-December 2003 and early January 2004, but she has not been seen or heard from since then.
Walker's neighbors say she had planned to check into a hospital for mental health treatment in October, so when she disappeared they were not concerned. Searches of area hospitals have not turned up sign of her. She may be in the area of the 3800 and 4100 blocks of Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria.

Qaisra Khan: Qaisra Khan was last seen at her home, located in the 6200 block of William Edgar Drive in the Franconia area, on the morning of August 26. She may appear confused and requires medication. Khan is a native of Pakistan and speaks very little English. She is of East Indian Pakistani descent. She had no credit card, no cellphone, no passport and no shoes when she left.
