An unidentified, elderly woman casually tried to throttle another woman's 1-year-old baby as she walked past its pram in a Boots store in The Strand, London, UK, Friday. The mother at first thought the woman was stopping to fuss over the baby; in the video at the link, you can see when she realizes and pushes the woman (who is wearing a poncho) sharply away.

Amazingly, the security guard (who obviously had suspicions about the woman because he'd followed her from the moment she walked in the store), just escorted her out after the incident and let her go! She told him: "That baby would rather be dead."

London Metropolitan police are appealing for anyone who knows the woman to contact them by calling 101.

To call this startling would be an understatement. It's at least a double-yikes and a triple-WTH?

There is something obviously not right about the women. Enough so that the guard was following her around the store.

She is not safe on the streets. She should be locked up and treated.

ITA Scralett. I'm sure the security guard thought he was doing the right thing by escorting the lady from the store. But if there was something about her that caused him to follow her from the get go and she openly walked up to the baby and tried to choke him she needs help. WOW
