The two men charged with murder were supposed to be watching a boy Sunday night, but instead, police said, they assaulted the boy several times and the 2-year-old died of head trauma and bleeding to his brain.

Troy Figgs, 20, and Akeem King, 20, are accused of repeatedly assaulting Marquel Davis, who'd been left in their care. Investigators also said the two men had watched the child on and off for several days.

A source told NBC 10 News that the two suspects were high when the incident took place.

Police said Marquel's mother, Michelle Thurman, 19, left him with the men on Sunday. Neither man was the child's father, but police said she had a relationship with one of them. http://www.turnto10.com/news/4800237/detail.html
