BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. - A couple from Leicester, NC is missing and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to find them. Cristie Schoen Codd, 38 and her husband Joseph "JT" Codd, 45, have been reported missing by family members from their home on Hookers Gap Road.

The couple was reported missing Sunday after family members couldn't contact them. Buncombe County Sheriff's deputies went to their home and found the couple's vehicles and their two dogs, but no sign of them.

Came to search if a thread had been started. Just read about them. Leicester (and how you pronounce it tells if your local or not) is a fairly small rural population on the outskirts of Asheville. Beautiful area.

This cabin fire happened 1hr and 10min away (according to google maps). It happened early this morning. It could possibly be them. Maybe some friends unknown to the family picked them up? I know it is probably a long shot.

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -
Two people were found dead in a fire at a Buncombe County cabin early Monday.

The fire was reported just after midnight near Black Mountain about 30 miles east of Asheville, sister station WYFF reported.

As a some of you may or may not know, I'm in North Carolina and this is the first that I've even heard of this young couple. Pretty much half the population of Buncombe County is "kin" to me. I've got quite a few eyes and ears out that way, so I'll keep my eyes open for sure.

2 missing and 2 dead on the same day is a little strange for WNC. I hope it's not related, you can't count it out though-driving to Blk. Mtn from Leicester wouldn't be considered as big deal to most locals. Driving a spell to get somewhere is part of life here.
But fingers crossed it is not related.

NEW DETAILS: There's a reason this missing Buncombe County woman looks so familiar
Cristie Codd was a competitor on season 8 of Food Network Star on the Food Network. Cristie Codd posted a photo of herself with her teammates from "Team Alton" on her Facebook page.

Family members said the couple is expecting a child later this year. Cristie Codd is five months pregnant, according to a friend near the search site.

A friend of the Codds said that JT works as a key grip on Hollywood films and that Cristie provides catering services on film sets. The friend said the couple is sometimes away for months at a time.

A family member posted on Facebook that both Cristie and JT were scheduled to begin working on new movies on Sunday but neither made it to their destinations. The post stated that JT was scheduled to begin work in Los Angeles and that Cristie was due to begin work in Biloxi, MS.

Reading that she is pregnant made me feel sick.

I hope they are found safe.

Knowing my movie friends, if they were not where they were supposed to be on Sunday, that is bad news.

So wow really they could be anywhere then if they were expected to be in different states today. Were they supposed to be flying out to their jobs?

I wonder who looked after the dogs when they traveled .
And I wonder if plans were in place for Sunday

Have they said when they were last seen or heard from? I can't find that info in any articles, but could have missed it.
