"The incident began when a Wal-Mart employee noticed that a large group of people were in one of the store's restrooms, department spokesman Bart Graves said. The employee was shoved by one of the suspects when she tried to enter, he said." bbm
.
"By the time Cottonwood police arrived, the group had made its way to the parking lot.
Officers were immediately attacked and there was a struggle for an officer's gun, Graves said

My first thought was to start thread in Bizarre News, but as it called for more than bandaids, decided it does not belong there.
How do these brawls begin? Sarc alert: Can't spare a square? (thx 'Seinfeld')
The family that brawls together stays together? Another meth lab in big box store restroom?

Seriously. Sad, sad, sad that anyone at all was hurt or injured.
But after someone tries to take an LEO's gun away, peace, joy, and harmony do not follow.JM2cts.

That LEO and others are then justified in using force in defense. < that is law, not jmo.

"DPS says all suspects involved were members of the same family who were driving a Suburban with Idaho plates. There were seven men and two women.

A witness told ABC15 the family had been staying in the parking lot for several days."

according to the video one of the ''campers'' of the group played his guitar in corner of parking lot and asked for $$

it was female employee of Walmart who was attacked.

A new bit of info.
"There were a total of three gunshots, and it was still unclear Sunday night who fired the shots, Graves said." bbm

ETA:
Curiouser & curiouser.
7 men & 2 women had been staying in an RV in this WalMart parking lot for a couple or several days.
Other RVers staying there too spoke on camera. One man had been playing guitar there & asking for $$.
LE spokesman said all suspects were booked as John Does, as "we don't know who they are."
"DPS says all suspects involved were members of the same family who were driving a Suburban with Idaho plates."

Common in some parts of US for RVs to stay one night in parking lot like this, esp WalMart, shop there. Not so common for multiple nights.
Were all 9 adults staying overnight/ traveling in one RV?
A motorhome? Even some motorhomes would not be rated to carry 9 adults & usu. gear.
Was a Suburban pulling a travel trailer accommodating 9 adults?
Even w the biggest Suburban, imo, not safe to pull travel trailer big enough for 9.
Maybe a fifth wheel rig, pulled by pickup?

Idaho plates and ^sounds like no IDs. Sovereign-citizens or other extremist group? IDK.

From this article, it looks like the 9 adults had been living in a Suburban SUV x 4 days in the walmart parking lot. Wow. That's mighty weird, not to mention cozy.

"The suspects had been staying in a Suburban vehicle for at least four days in the parking lot, according to a man camping out in an RV in the parking lot. The man would not give his name."

Seems weird that a large group of adults would all go the the restroom at the same time. If I was camping out in the pking lot, I'd lay low, and go to the restroom 1 or 2 people at a time. Wonder why they all went at once?

We had one of these 'freeman on the land' nut jobs doing his thing a couple of years ago here in Calgary. He was a renter and became a horrid nightmare for the poor older lady who owned the house. He was a real asshat, trashed the house completely inside (painted walls black, knocked walls down, etc), put a lien on her home, went months without paying rent after declaring her home his "embassy", etc. A real douche-canoe:

I was surprised to see it seems to be a bit of an international issue:

Happening in UK - England and Ireland - everything from refusal to pay taxes, traffic fines etc. people to refer to themselves as part of a 'family' but not associated with the Crown etc. through contract --

How does LE know they are from the same family if they don't know their names?

I was wondering the same !

This is my brother Doe, and my other brother Doe, and my other...

Today, quote from witness: "Louie Solano witnessed the incident."I was here last night," he said. "It was a lot of noise. It looked like a riot in the middle of the parking lot. I mean it was unbelievable."....
"Lots of screams," Solano said. "Just screeching noise, like unreal, unreal. I heard about eight to 10 shots."

Interesting tidbit at bottom of kpho ^article:
"This marked the seventh officer-involved shooting outside the Valley so far this year." IDK what geo area 'outside the Valley' is.
Not trying to turn this into a discussion about 'trigger happy police' because I don't get that vibe here: Non-LE ppl in this fight sound sketchy.
Guessing outside the Valley might be a high-crime, violent area or maybe another reason for high rate of OIS* this year to date.

* Cottonwood AZ "Full-time law enforcement employees in 2012, including police officers: 50 (31 officers)." and Cottonwood Pop. in 2013: 11,424.
"Officers per 1,000 residents here: 2.71, Arizona average: 1.99"
http://www.city-data.com/city/Cottonwood-Arizona.html#ixzz3VFvxRzRC. That's a lot more LEOs/1000 pop. than average in AZ, imo.

bbm Valley of the Sun is Phoenix -- probably pointed out that violence is increasing ''outside'' of Phoenix .....

interesting that a woman and a girl were trying to get into the men's washroom at Walmart when female employee was intercepting them....I believe that Walmart employee was doing a good deed -- men's bathrooms are not cool for minor females to be entering MOO

Ok, Valley of the Sun = Phoenix, which means 'outside the Valley' is - what? Entire st of AZ, other than metro Phoenix area (maybe Phoenix + a county or two)? Th

So are there any updates on this case and/or info on just who this group of unidentified winners are?

There is quite an extensive story of the family at this link:

http://www.idahostatesman.com/2015/03/23/3714336_boise-residents-charged-in-arizona.html?rh=1

''A Facebook page for Matthew 24 Now lists Peter as the father, writer and lead guitarist, with his sons Jeremiah and Nathan playing bass guitar and drums, respectively. Peter listed himself as Peter Green (Gaver).

“We are also known as Busking in The Son, as we have been busking on the streets of Boise Idaho for the last 3 years,” according to the Facebook page, which launched in June 2013. The page says the band is available for two- or three-hour acoustic gigs, but “We won't do any events where there's gonna be illegal drugs. Or any form of promiscuity"
