Jose Colon, 20, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter before Lehigh County Judge Robert L. Steinberg...

The killing occurred on March 23 at 733 Washington St. The victim, Luis Herrera, 47, rented a room at the home and was known in the community as a pastor who helped troubled youth... Colon told police that he smoked synthetic marijuana and fell asleep in Herrera's bed alone, Luksa said, then woke up to the feeling of being raped and found Herrera's arms around his body...

Steinberg asked the prosecutor if Herrera's reputation supported Colon's version of what happened. Luksa said there was a prior "police contact" involving Herrera and another "young individual," as well as text messages and photos that corroborated Colon's story.

Scheduled for sentencing January 4 per court records.

An Allentown man who admitted he used a hammer to kill a pastor in a city rooming house last year was sentenced Monday to six to 12 years in a state prison.
