Her facebook is here, not in English... I wonder if she speaks English?
How long has she lived here? Does she know the area?
(It IS her facebook if you scroll down you will see the picture posted in the MSM.)

Police: Provo woman missing since Thursday

http://www.ksl.com/?sid=34321766&ni...o-woman-missing-since-thursday&s_cid=queue-13

For non locals... she practically disappeared from the police station.
She was so close to it. 0.1 mile walking distance, even closer if you cut through parking lots.

There is no large bodies of water in that area (it would be 4+ miles walk to the lake.)
It's about a mile to the freeway.
As you can see from the map she was in downtown Provo... not in the middle of nowhere.

How do we find out where the RSOs in the area live?

Salgado is described as 5 foot 4 to 5 foot 5 inches tall, between 120 and 130 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a denim jacket with blue jeans and black or brown knee-high boots. She was carrying a denim handbag with red straps.

Okay this answers most of my questions.
She doesn't know much English and she isn't familiar with the area.

Search continues for missing Provo woman

------------------------------------------

Salgado has only lived in Provo for about a month, Post said. But she always went to school and work on time, and checked in with her roommates and family — most of whom live out of the country — every day.

"This behavior is outside the norm for her," Post said of Salgado's disappearance, while also noting that her cellphone is turned off and there has been "no activity on the credit cards."

Salgado, who is from Mexico, recently earned a scholarship to attend the Nomen Global Language Center to learn English, Post said. The school reported Tuesday that she had only been attending for three weeks.

I hope the police are considering a house to house search. This seems dire.

Rudemberth Salgado is another uncle who lives in Provo. He said his niece texted him about 1:30 p.m. Thursday asking for a ride to Wal-Mart. He agreed and asked her what time she needed a ride, but she never responded, he said.

As part of their investigation, detectives wanted to question two men who had allegedly asked the woman out on dates. She reportedly declined both invitations.

So if she was last seen that afternoon and didn't respond to a 1:30pm text message...
It sounds like her disappearance occurred pretty quickly after she left the school.
No reason not to be responding to a text message if you are just walking home. :twocents:

I don't think that would ever happen.
For one thing there are not really houses in that area.
She disappeared in downtown Provo... it's businesses right there.
I am assuming she was going to walk back to her apartment, since there is no mention of a bike.

It's about a 2 mile walk regardless of which route you take.
Those roads are all main roads with a 40mph or so speed limit similar to "state street." Not back roads.

There are hundreds of homes along that 2 mile route.
MANY are homes turned into apartments for college students.
My Grandparents old house is now 8 apartments and that's just one.

In Destiny Norton's Salt Lake case they did search houses in her neighborhood, but she disappeared from her house.
With a possible 2 mile route this girl could have disappeared on... it's just not practical.

She wasn't walking towards what *I* would consider the "bad" area of Provo though.
She was walking away from the halfway houses and druggie hotels... so there is that. :twocents:

Sounds like perhaps she was offered a ride, maybe by someone she knows? It was the middle of the afternoon so I'm thinking she willingly got into a car, feeling safe by familiarity and daylight. If she were taken by force, it probably would've been noticed. Just a guess at this point, of course.

JMO.

In general I agree that she wasn't likely abducted kicking and screaming.
There are a couple of spots in downtown Provo with some abandoned buildings... not a lot of people.
In those spots she could have been taken without it being noticed.
It just depends on which way she went. :twocents:

Elizabeth, tienes que ir a casa si eres capaz, mucha gente está preocupada por ti.

I really don't like the sound of this.

"We are so worried about her," said Rudemberth Salgado, Elizabeth's uncle. The uncle was scheduled to meet with Elizabeth Thursday afternoon to take her to the grocery store. "I called and called but there was no answer," said Salgado.

He said Elizabeth who is from Mexico recently finished her LDS mission there and planned to study in Utah. She was learning english at the Nomen Global School.

Elizabeth is about 5'4", weighing about 120 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes.

Her uncle said Elizabeth had been harassed by an unknown male at a restaurant where she was employed. "He kept asking her for a date and she kept telling him no," said Salgado. "We don't know if he had anything to do with her disappearance." But a spokesman for the Provo police department said that lead went nowhere. "We did speak with a couple of men but all they said was they asked her out on a date and she said no and that was it," said Lt. Brandon Post.

I am worried about this beautiful girl. My nephew lives very close to her; and coincidence, he returned from his mission in Mexico not long ago.

I am wondering if she was unhappy and lonely in Provo. :praying: she is okay.

She texted a relative to request a ride around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, but never responded when he asked her what time she'd like to be picked up.

-------------------------------

One of Salgado's uncles, who lives in California, reported her missing Friday.

I wonder why the Uncle in Utah who she texted for a ride, didn't report her missing?
Wouldn't it be easier than the Uncle in California doing it?
Maybe the California Uncle speaks English and the Utah one does not?

I just noticed that so I thought I'd point it out. :dunno:
