Two skeletons have been found in April 2015. The skull of the first was found by a hiker, and about 9 days later, when investigators went back to the site, they found another skeleton in the same area.

The first skeleton is believed to be a male, and is believed to have been at the site for at least 2 years, and possibly as long as 14 years.

The remains were found in Durand-Eastman park, a large wooded park that borders Lake Ontario, and is in the cities of
Rochester and Irondequoit. They were found about 60 feet off of King's Highway, which winds through the woods, with steep drop-offs on both sides. There has been quite a bit of erosion in the past few years, and crews have been working along the road in recent years to repair the eroded areas. There's a few houses along the road -- one not far from the site where the bodies were found. Also, the golf course is just north of where the bodies were found.

First body not believed to be Brian Sullivan, a 19 year old man who disappeared in 2007 http://www.13wham.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/remains-not-brian-sullivan-22361.shtml

Are they two remains of two deceased people? Or one person whose remains were scattered?

Two different bodies, accdg to this article: http://www.rochesterhomepage.net/st...d-in-irondequoit/33250/0padPq318k2RSg2wDtTA4A -- they were trying to match up the first skull to dental records of known missing persons, but didn't have enough teeth, so investigators went back to the site to try to find more teeth, and when they started digging more they found the 2nd skeleton. I think they still don't have a full skeleton for the first body -- think it is male, but that hasn't been completely confirmed -- which hints to me that they don't have the pelvis bone. As I mentioned above, there's lots of erosion, parts of the skeletons could have beenwashed further down the ravine. And, of course, animals may have spread the bones a bit.

rondequoit Police say they have a "tentative identification" for human remains found at Durand Eastman Park last month.

Officers say, with assistance of the Monroe County Medical Examiner, they were able to make a tentative identification. However, they are waiting on a scientific identification to confirm the ID. A name has not yet been released, however we have previously been told the bones belong to a male.

That makes it sound like one set of remains. Well, hopefully they'll announce something soon.

Just one skeleton found (accdg to WHEC article -- the Democrat still a bit ambiguous) -- they found more of the same skeleton when they went back to search the area again 9 days later. I wish I could go back and change the title of the thread, but too late now. Anyway, sounds like they've pretty much figured out who it was.

That mention of bone replacements...brought to mind an older man that went missing a while back...about 60, I think...maybe old enough to have a knee replacement or whatever. Can't remember name.

ETA: ok, found it -- Charles Secker, 60 -- went missing July 2013 -- little less than 2 years. Here's the Websleuths for him, but most of the news article links arent' available http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?219458-NY-Charles-Secker-60-Irondequoit-2-Jul-2013
