Police in Las Vegas want to talk to singer Chris Brown after a man says he was punched by him on an hotel basketball court.

A man told police he'd been playing basketball at the Palms Casino Resort when an argument broke out and Brown punched him. When he prepared to defend himself, he said, another man who was with Brown hit him.

... Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, according to LVMPD, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

Brown 'wasn't available' when police visited the hotel to talk to him and a spokesman denied the allegation.

TMZ has some more details - the incident took place at 3.42am on the basketball court and Brown was staying in 'the famous Hardwood Suite'. That precise time suggests there is cctv around somewhere. If he doesn't accept the misdemeanor battery, he'll have to take his chances with the DA.

Brown has apparently just settled a lawsuit over another basketball fight too, which fortunately for him happened just after his probation for the Rihanna assault had ended.

ETA: Having never heard of the famous Hardwood Suit, I looked it up as TMZ obviously wrote their article in such a hurry it accidentally gave the impression the basketball court was in the hotel room, silly people.

It is. Only in Vegas. :)
