We are very excited to introduce two filmmakers, Joshua Zeman and Rachel Mills (Cropsey, Killer Legends) to our Websleuth community. Josh and Rachel have created an upcoming docu-series investigating five active serial killer cases across the country: LISK, Eastbound Strangler (Atlantic City), Daytona Beach Serial Killer, Long Haul Serial Killer Truckers, and the West Mesa Bone Collector. The series is Executive Produced by an Oscar-winning filmmaker and will be aired by a premium cable network.

Rachel and Joshua have a new Websleuths hat/handle: Danse_Macabre. When Danse_Macabre posts people listen...or at least read.

What's so exciting is how Websleuths plays a big role in the series. For each case, Rachel & Josh will be engaging the WS community and working side by side with individual websleuthers to discuss theories, work on leads, and bring sleuthing work to Law Enforcement, victim's families, and others committed to helping catch these killers.

As many of you know, the victims in the aforementioned cases were sex workers – so often, these women do not receive the attention, and justice, desperately needed by their families, and the communities in which these heinous crimes occurred. That's one reason Websleuths is such an amazing resource. When LE hits a dead end, Websleuths members continue going down unbeaten paths to look for leads.

TO READ MORE ABOUT OUR EXCITING NEWS CLICK HERE!

Please post your thoughts, ideas, whatever you want to say about Websleuths and the new docu-series.

If any members do know the name of the network please DO NOT reveal it. That will come later.

Thanks,
Tricia

Thank you very much Puggle :)

Very exciting! Throw me any footprint, tire print or disturbed dirt, brush, trees etc.. photographs.

Thanks everyone! We just returned from a busy shoot out on Long Island and are excited to delve even further into the cases with the help of websleuthers like yourselves.

Trackergd- thanks, that is great to know!

John Terry should be interviewed. The killer called him aprox. thirty times.

We are really interested in interviewing John Terry (Blaze) but have had no luck at tracking him down. I do not believe his is in jail any longer as we've checked. If there's any place else we should be checking let us know. Thanks! -Rachel

John Terry was interviewed by The Daily Beast. Perhaps they could reach out to him for you. I hope the victims families participate in this documentary.

I think this is awesome~! I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Josh last year, and it's so exciting to see how everyone is going to be part of this. Full speed ahead!

If I were investigating this case, I would reach our to petite LI escorts who advertised on Craigs list to see if they had experiences with johns that have a thing for cell phones, is sadistic and cruel, maybe takes them to a construction sites, is controlling, superficially charming etc.

It's widely reported that the LISK stopped calling Amanda shortly after a Buffalo TV station broke the story about the calls.

Does anyone know the name of the Buffalo station and the exact date they broke this story? Has anyone come across anything like this in their research?

Thanks!

Rachel and Josh

In this Sep 6th 2009 newsreport MB's mother stated:

http://www.ny1.com/content/top_stori...-in-the-bronx/

Quote:

"The police have disclosed someone has my daughter," said the Barthemely's mother. "But I can't disclose more, but someone has my daughter."

That statement is probably based on that her mother and the police knew that a man was calling MB's little sister from MB's phone,
but still an interesting statement that I havn't heard before.

Missing Buffalo Native Last Seen In The Bronx
By NY1 News
Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 09:25 PM EDT

Police are looking for a Buffalo native who disappeared from her Bronx home last month.

Melissa Barthelemy, 24, was last seen leaving her Soundview apartment on July 12th.

Barthelemy moved to the city from Buffalo three years ago, after graduating from cosmetology school.

Her mother says she has not heard from her daughter since July 7th.

"A friend of [my daughter's] called me and said he hadn't spoken to her in days," said Barthemely's mother Lynn, who filed a missing person's report on July 15th. "So I called her phone and left a message, 'this is mom, call me back.' And normally, by the next day I get a phone call back, and [this time], nothing. The next day I left another message."

"Around the end of July I was contacted by a family member. The family member expressed concerns about Melissa and that the new city police weren't working the case to the satisfaction of the family," explained Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard.

As the result of Erie County sheriff's involvement, the New York City Police Department opened an investigation into Barthelemy's disappearance.

"The police have disclosed someone has my daughter," said the Barthemely's mother. "But I can't disclose more, but someone has my daughter."

Barthelemy's mother says authorities discovered that her daughter earned money as a prostitute, sometimes posting her services on Craigslist.

"Always know where they are. They have lots of secrets. You may think you know your kids, but you don't," said Lynn Barthemely.

The missing woman is described as being 4 foot 11 inches and 95 pounds with blond hair. She has the word "blaze" tattooed on her upper back.

Concerning wheter the SK's phonecalls to Melissa Barthelemy's little sister was recorded or not, here is a copy of a post I have previously posted here on WS:

The day of the killers third call , July 23, 2009, police requested a tap on the phone.
So at the next call, date not known, the date of next 3 calls have not been published, police tapped the calls, which means the last 4 calls were tapped, including the last call beeing Aug 26, 2009.

http://missingpersonsnetwork.org/201...serial-killer/

"Approximately a week after Melissa’s disappearance, Amanda, Melissa’s 15-year-old sister received a call from Melissa’s cell phone. Relieved and excited, expecting to hear her sister’s voice, Amanda found herself speaking to a man who authorities believe was Melissa’s killer. During the call, the man said sexually explicit things to the child and began describing horrific things he was going to do to her. It wasn’t until the third phone call police finally requested a tap on the phone. On August 26, 2009 the male caller made his last call to Amanda and reportedly admitted to killing Melissa. He also warned Amanda he knew where she lived and would come and kill her too."

The info is in a post I posted on page 6, on this thread post #132:

http://websleuths.com/forums/showthr...=134782&page=6

FYI, the phone calls to MB's sister started July 16, 2009 and ended Aug 26, 2009 with the caller saying he killed Melissa.
The calls ended after a Buffalo TV station revealed their existence.
So the timespan of the calls where 5 weeks and 3 days.

This is what I have on the killers contact with victims relatives etc, nothing specific on textmessages though.
It is from the MB Timeline thread:

http://websleuths.com/forums/showthr...light=timeline

The seven Jul/Aug 2009 phonecalls, made by the killer to Melissa's little sister Amanda.
Quotes:

According to newsreports, there were seven calls in all.
The caller I.D. displayed the number of Melissa’s missing cellphone
The killer always phoned in the evenings,
The killer always spoke for less than three minutes.
In all phonecalls the caller only wanted to talk to Melissa Barthelemy's little sister Amanda.
One time MB's mother answered, and the killer hung up as soon as he heard her voice.
Whoever was calling knew what Amanda looked like.
Police traced some of the calls to midtown Manhattan; Times Square, and Madison Square Garden, and another to Massapequa.
The killer sounded like an "older white guy"
Authorities tell CBS News he's likely white, between 25 and 40, is intelligent and street-smart
The killers voice was self-assured, a low voice, calmly mocking MB's sister.
"He was calm, in control," "He knew what he was doing." Amanda says.
"The voice on the other end was calm and bland, and never yelled or laughed" her mother, Lynn Barthelemy, said.
The killers was vulgar, mocking and insulting, according to the dead woman's mother, Lynn Barthelemy.
''If you accept it was the killer calling, he certainly had feelings of anger towards prostitutes.'' Mr. Cohen, Lynn Barthelemy's lawyer, said.

The calls abruptly stopped in August 2009 after a Buffalo TV station revealed their existence.

2009 calls from the killer, using MB's cell phone.

7 calls were made, Belowe are the 4 known dates, the last 3 calls has not been disclosed):

Thurs July 16, 2009: first call
Sun July 19, 2009:
Thurs July 23, 2009
Wed Aug 26, 2009: last call ( 01:00 am, lasted ca 40 seconds ) traced to the Times Square area.

SK Phonecalls content:

Thise are quotes from some of the phonecalls:

“Is this Melissa’s little sister?”

“I hear you’re a half-breed.”

'Do you know what your sister is doing? She's a *advertiser censored*.' (1st call according to LB's atty Steve Cohen)

“Are you gonna be a *advertiser censored* like your sister?”

"Do you think you'll ever see to her again?," .... "You won't. I killed her," (after having sex with her, he claimed Aug. 26, 2009, 1AM )
In the final call, the man described in graphic detail to the victim's sister what he had done sexually to Barthelemy, Cohen said.

And according to LB's atty Steve Cohen, in Dec 2011 48 Hours:

The killer also said that he know where Amanda lives and that he might come after her.

and that; "The killer said sexually exposit things as to what he had done to Melissa, and he said sexually

exposit things as to what he was going to do to Amanda"

Melissa's boyfriend, Johnny Terry also recived several phoncalls, probably, from the killer

1.According to Melissa's boyfriend, Johnny Terry, he too recieved taunting calls from someone he described as a "white guy".

2.Terry received over thirty phone calls during an eight month period, the caller mentions tattoos. Terry is quoted as saying, “He was threatening me. He said you liked to do some crazy stuff with Melissa. I know where you be at. Most of the time he seemed drunk. He knew who I was. He knew I had tattoos on my back.” One of the phones used to make these calls was a throw-away phone registered to Mickey Mouse.

3.Earlier that evening (July 12, 2009), the blond beauty told her boyfriend that she might be going to Long Island, a frequent haunt of hers. She regularly hung out there with a girlfriend who also worked as an online escort, as well as at the home of a regular client. Her boyfriend said he would oftentimes pick her up from the john's house."She would go to Long Island a lot," said her boyfriend Johnny Terry, who spoke exclusively with The Daily Beast. "She had some older man she was chummy with."Terry, who law-enforcement sources say was Barthelemy's pimp, said she was very secretive about her plans that night and declined an offer for a ride. "This time she said no," said Terry, who denies that he was her pimp. "I woke up in the morning and she wasn't there."

Additional info:
The NYPD was able to trace the last two calls to the Madison Square Garden and Times Square area.

They traced a second phone, that belonged to her ( Melissa), to an ex-con who said he picked it up after a tussle between hookers in Times Square orchestrated by a pimp.

To Danse_Macabre

I find it odd and kind of disappointing that Danse_Macabre ask us WS members for information about the case, and then when they get a serious response, with the info they asked for (see my 08-11-2015 response in the above post), it seems that they don't even care to look for it and/or give a hint that they actually saw/read it.

I responded to one of their requests August 11, 2015 and used quite some time to put together an extensive post about the subject the asked about, but apparently all in vein :(

Also, I was contacted by one of the two Danse_Macabre people back in mid July and I replied to his email but never heard anyting back, so I´m not that impressed by the Danse_Macabre project so far I'm sorry to say.

Foreigner,

I got the idea that they are focusing their efforts on how the online community helps solve missing persons cases. They also mentioned the word "creepy" several times. I think they are going to put together a creepy "documentary" about the missing women and that is it. It does not really surprise me. Once again these women are used and exploited. This time it is their deaths, not their bodies getting used.
