Claytor’s family says the Speedway gas station at the intersection of Bridge Street and Main Street was the last place Timberly was seen alive early Thursday morning. They say law enforcement is now combing through surveillance video, looking for clues.

“She was a good girl,” Pummel said. “She did good in school. Like I said, she come from a good family.”

Pummel says the family needs to stick together.

“I just know all the feelings of each family member and what part it played and what they’re going to go through and what they’re going to deal with and what people’s going to say,” she said. “And, it breaks my heart.”

She says people should remember Claytor for who she was and not for her addiction.

Ross County Sheriff George Lavender said Jason McCrary is the prime suspect in the death of 38-year-old Timberly Claytor.

Claytor is the third woman from the area found dead over the last year and is one of seven women who have gone missing during that time period.

Investigators say they are forming a taskforce with federal, state and local officials to solve this killing and find out what happened to the missing women.

Though Claytor was not one of the missing women, the discovery of her body and the release of law enforcement's main suspect, Jason McCrary, 36, caused a community push for answers.

No, he did not. From August:

With a murder trial looming in his future, a Ross County jury took just less than a hour to find a Roxabel man guilty of failing to register as a sex offender.

The jury found Jason McCrary, 37, guilty of failure to register and Common Pleas Judge Mike Ater immediately sentenced McCrary to the maximum 36 months in prison.

A key witness for the prosecution in the week-long murder trial of Jason McCrary will continue her testimony Wednesday.

Prosecutors began their allegations against Jason McCrary Tuesday by producing three witnesses placing Timberly Claytor in the car he was said to be driving in the hours before her murder.

Jillian Adkins, Maria Catron, and Jessica Lowry took the stand as County Prosecutor Matthew Schmidt began laying out his case that McCrary was the person who shot Claytor in the head three times in May 2015.

Despite his complaint that he was convicted before his trial even began, Jason McCrary received a sentence of 28 years to life in prison for killing Timberly Claytor in 2015.

Ross County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Ater sentenced McCrary to 28 years to life in prison. The murder conviction already carried a sentence of 15 years to life, and the gun specification carried a three-year minimum addition to the sentence. He is already serving a 36-month prison sentence for a prior conviction of failure to register.
