COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Four people were killed in a shooting at an Ohio home and a teenage girl who was found outside the residence Saturday was injured, a police sergeant said.

Police were searching for a suspect in the deaths of two males and two females, and Sgt. David Sicilian of the Columbus homicide squad said they fear for the injured teen's safety.

"We obviously have a homicidal suspect out here who's not afraid to kill somebody. We need to quickly find out who that is or the persons responsible for this," Sicilian told reporters.

Police did not identify a suspect or motive in the slayings. They also said the ages and identities of the victims would not be released until relatives have been notified.

UPDATE: Autopsies for 4 Found Dead at NE Columbus Home
Sunday, June 14, 2015

The names of two men and two women found dead at a northeast Columbus home Saturday morning have yet to be released -- and, the killer remains at-large more than 24 hours later.

"We're using all of our resources to try to figure out what happened. We do not have a suspect at this point in time," Columbus Police Sgt. Dave Sicilian said.

Two autopsies are underway today with the other two scheduled for tomorrow.

How long does it take to inform the families? And did it ever occur to LE if they named the victims it would help to ID the suspect/suspects?

Up to 100 people congregated behind yellow police tape to learn if a loved one or friend was among the victims

SNIP

Focal point: Many people said they were drawn to the scene because their loved ones frequently dropped by the house and they couldn’t reach them by phone yesterday

Seems like IDing the victims may have been initially difficult because the house reportedly has a lot of visitors. Not to be too graphic but depending on where the victims were shot, a visual ID may not have been readily possible, or if it was, loved ones may have been difficult to reach.

I get the feeling LE probably knows the identities of all victims at this point and it is a matter of informing kin before the public.

Very weird that everyone else inside the home was fatally wounded while the 16-year-old girl was left with only minor injuries and able to escape.

Also, that they aren't releasing names may have to do with concern for the safety of the remaining victim and her identity being revealed at this time.

It seems to me that this possibly had to do with drugs, not necessarily a "botched robbery" as LE is portraying it, considering that the home was a popular place for visitors...

Some names here but not confirmed by LE. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2015/06/13/0613-linden-shooting.html

In 2011, Ballour was ordered to serve 10 months in prison after being convicted of nonsupport of dependents in Delaware County.

He was arrested by Columbus police at the E. Hudson Street home on Jan. 21 and charged with felony drug possession or abuse.

A neighbor who didn’t give her name, thinking Ballour might be among the dead, said he was kindhearted, loved his children and had a great sense of humor.

Allegations that Robert L. Adams Jr. killed four people in the basement of a South Linden house prompted a Franklin County grand jury to return a death-penalty indictment against him on Thursday...

O’Brien said Adams committed the crimes while participating in the street gang known as the Crips...

Police said Adams was the shooter but was assisted by Jordyn D. Wade, 16.

From last week:

A 16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult in the slayings of four people at an Ohio home last summer...

O’Brien says Wade is accused of helping a 27-year-old accomplice rob five victims, then stand with his gun drawn while the accomplice shot the victims.

For the second time in five months, a 17-year-old girl who survived a mass shooting in a South Linden basement took the witness stand on Wednesday and identified Jordyn D. Wade as a participant in the slayings.

She cried as she recalled watching the execution-style killings of four people, including two women who begged for their lives. She testified that she played dead after a bullet grazed her head and took off the top of her left ear...

Jurors also heard testimony from investigators, including one Columbus police officer who briefly choked up as he described discovering the bodies.

From May:

Jordyn D. Wade didn’t pull the trigger, but he assisted in an execution-style shooting in which four people died and one was wounded in a South Linden basement last year, a Franklin County jury ruled Friday.

The jurors deliberated for just two hours before convicting the 17-year-old of multiple counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping and aggravated robbery and one count each of attempted murder and aggravated burglary. They also found him guilty of gun and gang specifications for each count...

Each of the four aggravated murder convictions could send Wade to prison for life without parole when he is sentenced...
