Louisville police looking for missing girl, Meagan Lee Hassler
Louisville Metro Police say they are looking for a missing girl.

According to police, the girl's name is Meagan Lee Hassler.

A flier posted on the "I AM Dixie Highway" Facebook page describes her as 19 years old, 5'-0" tall and approximately 95 pounds. She is a white female, with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the Facebook page, with a owl tattoo on her left shoulder and a crown tattoo on her right shoulder.

According to the Facebook page, she was last seen in the Valley Station area in the company of four people.

I have not been watching the news lately, so I wasn't even aware of this missing girl from Louisville. :frown: Valley Station is just a little neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville.
They found a body today at the Jefferson county (Lou.)-Bullitt County line, roughly 20 miles away.

The body has not been identified as of yet.

Rumors are going around the news media online outlets that her family has confirmed it is Meagan :frown:
I haven't heard it first hand though.

The father of her child is confirming on FB that the body is Meagan's. I understand it's still rumor because it's not officially been released, but I feel so sorry for her son.
 
I was wondering if there's more to the story. It kind of makes no sense. The suspects thought she stole drugs from one of them, forced her to strip, didn't find the drugs and then drove her to a different location and killed her anyway. And then the female suspect goes to police on her own to confess 6ish days later. Seems bizarre but then again if it was drug fueled maybe making sense wasn't part of the equation. Media mentioned the arrest report but it doesn't look like anyone put it online yet.

I don't know how these kids get wrapped up so deep in drugs at such a young age.......

What I do know however, is that if you lay down with the dogs, your gonna get fleas.
 
Suspects held on $750,000 bond in kidnapping, murder case
3:04 PM EDT Jun 24, 2015

Monica Mudd, 22, and Todd Byrd, 45, are accused of kidnapping Meagan Hassler, 19, a week ago, driving her to a wooded area near the Bullitt-Jefferson county line and shooting and killing her.

Police found Hassler’s body on Tuesday near Pendelton Hill Road in Bullitt County.

Bond was set Wednesday morning at $750,000 for Mudd and Byrd.

Mudd is planning to hire her own attorney. A public defender will be assigned to Byrd’s case.

After reading what poor Meagan went through I am filled with swear words which I will let out in private. This is absolutely terrible! Do they have the death penalty in KY? :stormingmad:
 
How truly senseless. I hope Todd Byrd gets the death pentalty. Thank god Monica has a concience - I see her as a victim in this in her own way - hopefully she gets the help she needs to get clean and turn her life around after whatever deal they cut her.
 
Death penalty sought in teen's 2015 murder
Prosecutors have decided to seek the death penalty for two defendants accused of kidnapping a 19-year-old last summer before shooting and leaving her for dead in a wooded ravine.

Todd Byrd, 46, and Monica Mudd, 23, were arrested days after Meagan Hassler's body was found June 23 just across the Jefferson County line.

Both are charged with complicity murder and complicity kidnapping resulting in death.
