One year after Linden teen's killing, another vigil and a continuing search for her killer

LINDEN — Amber Wilson, a recent graduate of Linden High School, was walking along Hussa Street in the city with a friend late one evening last summer.

The pair had just left a Dunkin’ Donuts on nearby North Wood Avenue, heading to the home of a mutual friend. Just past the leafy corner, where Hussa meets Maple Avenue, they were approached by at least one person.
Words were exchanged and at least one gunshot echoed through the quiet residential neighborhood.

Wilson's death remains unsolved and Union County authorities are still trying to identify her killer.

It's one of many unsolved major crimes in New Jersey. Also known as "cold cases," authorities continue to investigate them, sometimes for many years, in the hope of finding the perpetrators
