A driver of a hearse which had just collected a body from Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, was carjacked, Sunday morning.
The thief, who is believed to have been a patient at the hospital, smashed through a fence with the vehicle containing the coffin, before abandoning it and attempting to steal another car. That driver sped off, but the next driver he carjacked was not so lucky. The unnamed suspect was eventually caught by police.
A family member of the owners of the hearse, Willie Watkins Funeral Home, says the driver has been traumatized by the incident. The suspect is due in court Monday.
