James (Jim) Martin McAleavey 29, Ashland OR Spring 1995 - Brown hair, hazel eyes Height 6'3" 180-200lbs; no scars or broken bones that sister can remember. Carl pointed out that Jim had very distinctive teeth.

Sister last saw him the winter of 1994, he was living in Ashland, Oregon. Sometime in the Spring of 1995, he told his mother he was going to Georgia to see his friend Michael. It is not known if he hitched or if someone bought him a plane ticket to Georgia as he did not own a car. He has not been seen since. Family has checked his social with the social security administration to find no record of it's use nor that he's been reported deceased.

His sister recently reported him missing to Ashland OR police

I entered Jim in NamUs, profile is not online yet. We're waiting for a case worker as it looks like Janet Franson is no longer with NamUs.

Thank you so much to both of you for all of your help. All these years of searching and maybe now I can get closure. God bless you both!

You're very welcome
Praying we get a case worker quickly so that your DNA can be taken to start the process. It was taking 6 months to process DNA. The last person I know to have given DNA was processed in 15 weeks. It seems like they added another step; once it's processed, it goes to comparison.

It's taking so long because so many people have found NamUs to add their loved ones. This year alone has had more MP/UP matches then any I can remember!

Do you mean they take a relative's DNA to see if anything in any system matches it since he's been missing since way before DNA was used for anything?

I have to run to an appointment, but yes, it gets run against a few databases, UNT, CODIS. UNT will give a suggestion that will then have to be looked at by humans vs CODIS that gives a cold hit

Just to let you know, I am in Texas and a friend of mine (also in Texas) just shared your Facebook post, so it is being shared across the country. :)

I can't find James in NaMus or any other online sites, and I can't find any MSM reports about him.

I don't know how to search those. Can you see if it's been updated? He's definitely GOT to get his name in there.

This photo is posted on his FB page, his sister says that people may remember him by it. Taken in Lithia Park, playing the drum. She said it's probably the last photo of him.

She also posted that she got a tip that someone saw him in Ashland Oregon in 1995, he spent time at "the land" a place in the forest. They felt he was homeless. The last time the tipster saw him was at the black sheep pub in Ashland, someone did something, James thought the cops would be called so he bolted.

This is my only sibling, my brother, James (Jim) Martin McAleavey. The last picture was taken around 1994. The last time I saw him was the winter of 1994. He disappeared from Ashland, Oregon sometime in the Spring of 1995. I have been searching for him for years. I have seen people find lost loved ones on Facebook and I am willing to take a chance. There is a chance that he traveled to the Midwest or East Coast to visit a friend back in 1995. He would be 49 years old right now. Maybe somebody out there knows something. Please help me find out what happened to my brother by sharing.
