A male passenger used gasoline and a cigarette lighter to try and set fire to a Shenzhen Airlines plane enroute from Taizhou to Guangzhou in China, Sunday. He had to be restrained by passengers and crew.

The plane made an emergency landing at Guangzhou and two people were hurt using the emergency slides. Both lighters and flammable liquids are banned aboard flights in China and it seems there has been a serious breakdown in security.

It's the latest in a string of incidents on planes in China, including a man trying to open a door and fights between crew members.

This (Chinese language) article mentions passengers armed with knives and someone releasing (tweeting?) a photo of the plane with a completely burnt seat and blackened door.

I suspected someone would have snapped photos but my poor searches of twitter in Chinese haven't been successful in finding them, and the article doesn't provide a link.
