Sheriff seeking help to find missing woman

On May 30, the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a missing person. They are now asking for the public’s help in finding Jacquelyn (Jackee) L. Auten-Metz, 52, of St. James, who was reported missing by her family. The family is still seeking information on anyone that has seen or been in contact with Metz since she first went missing.

Her boyfriend, Jesse Bockover, committed suicide on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. The same day, he called Detective Boshoff and left a message on his voicemail stating that they would see him the following day. He was going to come in and talk to them about the disappearance,” Metz’ daughter-in-law Chelsea Auten said. “We feel as though her case has shifted from a missing person that may be hiding out somewhere to maybe she was killed or something horrible.”

oh no, that doesn't bode well at all. If they haven't done so already, LE need to be checking computer records, phone records & ping locations, speaking to friends and generally finding out everything they can about this couple. No doubt they have this covered though...

Man I sure wish the boyfriend would have met with the detective as scheduled...

(I knew that St. James, MO rang a bell with me - a while back I had been looking at the Amanda Caudill missing from St, James, Mo. posts (she's been missing since December 15, 2014).

I'm not thinking that these two cases have anything to do with each other, it's just that St. James seems so small (pop. 4216 in 2010) to have two missing women reports. But I guess this is the new normal )

Rosati, Missouri - Search efforts continue for Jacquelyn Auten-Metz.

Acting on recently obtained information from citizens, the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, local law enforcement and emergency medical services initiated a search of some farms in Rosati, Missouri.

Members of the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, Rolla Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, St. James Police Department, St. James Fire Department, St. James Ambulance District, Gateway Search Dogs, and Region G Search and Rescue assisted with the search.

Law Enforcement utilized boats equipped with sonar to search ponds, cadaver dogs, and people on foot. Unfortunately, nothing was located that would aid this investigation. Sheriff Lisenbe wants to thank everyone for their assistance with the search efforts today.

Jacquelyn Auten -Metz is a 52 year old female who was reported missing from the 21000 block of County Road 3644, St. James, Missouri. She has no mode of transportation or cell phone. Jacquelyn Auten-Metz is described as 5 foot 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, false teeth, unknown clothing description and a dream catcher tattoo on her right upper arm.

Medical Conditions Auten-Metz suffers from fibromyalgia, Crohn's Disease and nerve damage in her back. She takes several prescription medications and hasn't seen a doctor or refilled her prescriptions since her disappearance.
Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Auten-Metz has a herniated disc and multiple healed fractures to her left ribs, as well as fractures to her knee, her left arm, her right hand and wrist, and three prior fractures to left leg. She has a rod implanted in her right hand and wrist. Her ears are pierced and she wears dentures. She has a tattoo of a rose on her left breast and a tattoo of a dream catcher with the names "Justin", "Kelly", "Jesse" and "Harley Davidson" on her right upper arm. Auten-Metz's nickname is Jackee.

Details of Disappearance
Auten-Metz was last seen in St. James, Missouri on April 8, 2015. She lived with her boyfriend, Jessie Lee Bockover, in the 21000 block of County Road 3644 in St. James, Missouri. Auten-Metz's family reported her missing on May 30.

Police interviewed Brockover twice and named him as a person of interest in her case, as his statements were inconsistent. They attempted to interview him a third time, but were unable to locate him. On July 14, Bockover was found dead near his home; he'd shot himself to death.

Foul play is suspected in Auten-Metz's case. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
