A doctor in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany has been charged with negligence and bodily harm after declaring a 92-year-old woman dead. He was called out to her residential home when a nurse found she wasn't breathing.
After family said their last farewells, she was taken to the morgue and spent numerous hours in the cooling cabinet - then almost startled workers to death by crying out for help.
She died in hospital two days later. Although prosecutors say her death was not related to the hours spent in the chiller, they have just announced the doctor will be charged over the incident, which happened in March. Trial date to be announced.
