"One man died and a woman was injured in a double shooting Sunday night, St. Louis police said.The victim who died was taken to a hospital after the shooting in the 3300 block of Texas Avenue, police said.
He was shot at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. His name and age have not been released.
Police said another victim, a 40-year-old woman, was stable after being shot in the knee.
Police did not have information to release on a suspect.
Afterward, a crowd of about 150 people gathered and started rushing the scene, police said. Additional officers were called for assistance in clearing the area.
"Hopefully with all of these people on the scene, somebody will come forward and give us some information," said Lt. Paul Piatchek.
"Over the next seven hours, four more men would be shot — but survive — in four separate incidents...."
