The president of Hiker's Paradise Hiking Club is facing criticism and a possible ban in South Africa after he led a party of 14 along a Table Mountain trail park authorities say has been closed for 20 years. They were trapped for more than six hours after a rockfall and five people were injured, one seriously.
After the group was rescued by helicopter guide Anwar Adams, who is also a Cape Town councillor, hit back however, saying the route is not flagged up as closed but simply has a sign warning of danger and that hikers walking it do so at their own risk.
