Authorities on Wednesday asked for the public's help to identify a man they said was found dead in the Hudson River, near the George Washington Bridge.

The man's body was recovered Sept. 15, said Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams, a spokesman for the State Police.

State Police described the deceased as white, 45 to 50 years old, 5-foot-5 and 151 pounds, with blue or green eyes, a shaved head, scruffy beard and missing upper teeth.

He was pulled from the water wearing black Speedo swim shorts, a blue t-shirt and black Nike sneakers, according to State Police.

The article says to contact: State Police Missing Persons Unit at 609-882-2000 ext 2857 or Port Authority Police at 212-502-2514

"The man was found without any identification, the spokesman added. Port Authority police checked area hospitals for recently discharged patients, but didn't find anyone matching the man's description.

Pentangelo said the man was wearing hospital-style socks, had what appeared to be recent punctures from an IV and marks on his skin consistent with pads used in an electrocardiogram procedure.

New York City police and Fort Lee police reported they also had no matching missing persons reports, he said."
