Sanmay Ved was checking out Google's new service selling domain names when he saw that it listed Google.com was for sale for $12. He knew the domain name, worth billions, couldn't possibly be on sale but out of curiousity as a former employee of the firm tried to buy it anyhow.
The sale went through.
Two confirmatory emails arrived and Ved says he had a minute or two enjoying ownership of one of the most valuable domain names in the world before Google realized its mistake and cancelled the transaction.
