Norman Lee, a 47-year-old comic book artist, was snorkeling with his wife about 250 feet from shore on March 5 when the two were separated. He was not seen again. At the time of his disappearance, it was reported that the currents were very strong. The reef where the couple was swimming is about 400 to 500 yards from a large ocean-floor drop that goes down for several thousand feet.

His wife made it to shore and filed a missing persons report.

The search for Lee ended on March 9, and officials switched gears to recovery mode, but have come up empty handed.

The FBI is now assisting the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service in their investigation.

My family loves to snorkel. I never thought of it being life threatening. Since reading so many stories about these people being swept away, I let my husband and son snorkel while I float with them on a raft. My eagle eyes are on them.

This reminds me of the Amanda Waller case here on WS - she was last seen snorkeling in Curacao.

Amanda's case is curious. And then I found this looking for more info on her:

Turns out her's is also the name of a DC Comics character, and who did Norman work for? I don't see how there's more of a connection. Truth is stranger than fiction.
