SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- Heather was murdered, that is what Heather Ciccone's older sister Courtney said happened. While the Ciccone family is convinced their loved one was killed, investigators with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said they were continuing to investigate the 21-year-old woman's mysterious death. Ciccone, a waitress at a Red Robin in Fredericksburg, was found dead early Monday morning in the front seat of her car. The car was parked in a driveway on Piney Branch Road, about 30 minutes from her Spotsylvania home.

There was no known connection between the death and the home where the car was found.

How sad.. "Heather has had a girl who has been stalking her and threatening to kill her," stated her sister Courtney. She also stated that "Heather suffered from a single-gunshot wound". Law enforcement has not yet determined Heather's death and classified her injuries as a "severe trauma to the upper body."

So there is no news out yet on if this is a homicide investigation yet or not. Some articles have mentioned Heather having a stalker. There are comments on Heather posted on facebook that seem to indicate that as well as maybe a recent change in her relationship. Hard to tell for sure from her post.

According to a search warrant filed in Stafford County Circuit Court, Ciccone suffered a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
The search warrant, filed Monday by Spotsylvania Detective Donnie Reid, gave police authority to search the 2010 Kia that Ciccone was found in. It’s unclear why the search warrant was filed in Stafford.

How sad :( Hopefully LE will quickly be able to determine what happened by examining the gun and the wound.

Severe trauma to the upper body, is how they described my brother's murder. The guy used a deer rifle, and blew off his head.

I cant even image the shock that must have been for you... Hugs.

I dont know why LE thinks severe trauma to the upper body sounds better than gunshot wound. It doesnt. Maybe at first they were trying to hide the cause of death back for investigative purposes.

I so sorry to hear that, that's something you'd never get over.

Wonder if alleged female stalker might have convinced a male to do the shooting, or if any injuries were present before the gunshot blast?
imo, speculation.

On Tuesday, Courtney Ciccone posted a plea on Facebook seeking help in finding her sister's killer.

"Our precious Heather was taken to heaven way to to early!" the post says. "Someone stole her from us, and she can't ever come back. We love you and miss you so much already!!!"

The post calls the killing a "selfish, unthinkable act of hate!" adding that "Someone murdered her in cold blood and left her to die alone! Words can't even describe what they are putting our family through... We love you Boo Boo."

Her parents told the station she said she was going to help a friend whose car broke down.

Pearce said the owners of the home near where the body was discovered aren't connected to the crime. He said the car "wasn't ten feet" into what was a long stretch of driveway between the road and the home, and it appeared it had pulled in "very quickly."

The homeowners notified police after making the gruesome discovery, reports WTVR. On Monday, a medical examiner ruled Ciconne's death a homicide by a gunshot to the upper body, Pearce said.

Such a lovely young woman. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Hopefully there will be an arrest soon!

According to Pearce, a resident in the 10300 block of Piney Branch Road called the Sheriff’s Office shortly after 11 p.m. to report a vehicle at the end of his driveway that he did not recognize. He told police that the driver appeared to be unresponsive and passed out behind the steering wheel.
Deputies arrived and found Ciccone and lots of blood. Pearce said police don’t know of any connection Ciccone had to the home, and detectives are working to determine who killed her and why.
Other sources said social media postings showed that Ciccone had been having issues with another young woman regarding a man that included threats made by the other woman and unwelcome visits by the woman to Ciccone’s home.

Something tells me this unknown women is pretty busy today.

Robert Delbuono, who lives on Piney Branch Road near where Ciccone was found, described the area with wooded lots and long driveways as “uneventful,” aside from some break-ins several years ago.
“I very seldom see anything abnormal,” said Delbuono, who has lived there for nearly three decades. “Same cars, same people.”
