His Namus says he has DNA but no dentals or fingerprints.

What matches: height is 6'4" but at 180lbs he'd be quite slender, so those jeans might have fit him.

The only photo is black and white so it's hard to tell about his hair color. It's described as "brown."

He went missing from Tenaya Lake, on the back side of Yosemite, one of the isotope-indicated locations. Tenaya Lake is directly south of Sand Canyon via 338: https://goo.gl/maps/o8d1cAoyX5m

What doesn't match: age. He was 24 in 1988, would have been 27 in 1991.

Intriguing details:

Barnes had an orthopedic pin in his left ankle, indicating that at some point his ankle had been repaired. The UID's feet were missing. Shoes found in the vicinity were too small with odd repair--because of needing to accommodate an injury?

Barnes is from Cucamonga CA. Some of the isotope maps seem to indicate a spot of Region 2 in the Cucamonga/Palm Springs area. I'm not sure exactly where. Did the isotope indicate where the UID might have been from before the end of his life?

Carbuff, Thanks for finding this one!! This was uploaded to Namus in May 2015 and last time I went through Namus was in April 2015. I have added him to the pending list for LEO. His height and thin build seem to fit the jeans (36" inseam). He has DNA uploaded into Namus so LEO can do a quick check (despite not having dentals to compare). He becomes our 349th submission for consideration.

I only found him because I was looking for people missing from the isotope regions, to see if anybody fit our profile.

Side by side. Not real close, but not really off, either.

I have the impression that he committed suicide... there are some factors that indicate it if he goes with friends to a park as big and dangerous as Yosemite alone... I think he had depression and couldn't find any way out of it... or it could also have succumbed to the elements of the weather.. wild animals a wrong path...
either way
rest in peace
