Claudia was the mother of three young daughters at the time of her disappearance. She has not been seen or heard from since 1980, and LE believes she is now dead, according to a 2001 Toledo Blade newspaper article. Her name and SS number have not been used since her disappearance. Her husband was not considered to be a suspect in 2001.
Short quote from article:
"Mr. Clinger said he too assumed his wife was dead, but he said he believed she was alive for the first few years after she vanished." Reasons why he believed that were not stated in the article.

DNA sample, tests complete, are in NAMUS. No dentals or FPs.
Height 64 inches
Weight 135 lbs
Strawberry/blonde hair
Blue eyes.
wore brown rim glasses

There is no photo of Claudia in NAMUS, but there is a photo of her in an Ohio newspaper article from 2001.

Bump
It is interesting that LE do not see the husband as a suspect considering he obtained a divorce on 18 March 1981 (for 'gross neglect of duty'). This is from Ohio divorce records on Ancestry. That certainly seems to be a considerable hurry given that she only disappeared 9 months earlier.

Let's see...she disappeared right after she and her husband had an argument, and he didn't report her missing for three days. If he isn't a suspect, I don't know what it takes for someone to be considered a suspect.

If you were to ask the daughters who the suspects were they would only have one, unanimous answer and that is their father.

Details of Disappearance
Clinger was last seen at her home in the 2800 block of Nebraska in Holland, Ohio on June 22, 1980. Her husband of eleven years stated they had an argument, and he heard the family car drive away between 5:00 and 8:00 a.m. Later that day, he found the car back in the driveway, but Clinger was gone. She has never been heard from again.

Clinger was a stay-at-home mother to three daughters at the time of her disappearance. The police believe she met with foul play, and her husband and family agree; her husband stated she was a good mother and he didn't think she would have abandoned her children. He has cooperated with the investigation and isn't considered a suspect in her case.

In 1986, six years after her disappearance, Clinger was declared legally dead. Her case remains unsolved.

Do we know if the husband is still alive?

My dad actually confessed to me in 99, that’s what sparked the search of his property. However the search was unsuccessful.

There has been no activity here for quite awhile so bumping for Claudia. Do we know if Claudia’s case is still considered active? Does the husband have any known ties to Texas? Is it possible he could have had the opportunity to take her elsewhere (out of state?)
