Criminal indictments unsealed Wednesday in the kidnapping of two University of Rochester football players add multiple counts of predatory sexual assault as well as firearms charges against at least two of the defendants.

The students apparently were victims of mistaken identity, targeted by six or more suspects and abducted on Dec. 5, as retribution for a drug-related robbery in which neither was involved. Authorities have said that UR seniors Ani Okeke Ewo and Nicholas Kollias were held and terrorized for 40 hours before being rescued by a Rochester police SWAT team.

I'm a bit shocked that three of the six attackers are females.

This is the strangest case. I just don't quite get it. They kidnapped two big strong football players, sexually assaulted and tortured them, but it was mistaken identity, they were really looking for 2 different ball players to kidnap…?

Dennis Perez: Two counts of first-degree gang assault, six counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, nine counts of first-degree predatory sexual assault, one count of first-degree criminal use of a firearm, and multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Lydell Strickland: 2 counts of 1st-degree gang assault, 6 counts of 1st-degree robbery, 2 counts of 2nd-degree robbery, 9 counts of 1st-degree predatory sexual assault, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and multiple counts of third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

David Alcaraz-Ubiles: 1st-degree criminal use of a firearm, 3rd- and 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Leah Gigliotti: 2 counts of 1st-degree gang assault.

Samantha Hughes: 2 counts of 1st-degree gang assault.

Inalia Rolldan was indicted on 2 counts of 2nd-degree kidnapping but not assault charges. She also faces charges of 1st-degree criminal use of a firearm, 3rd- and 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Because sexual assault is now alleged, I don't think victim's photos should be posted.

Yes, it sure appears perps were looking for somebody else and this was a case of mistaken identity.
It also seems like police know who actually committed the robbery and it weren't the two victims. That's good enough for me. Nothing indicates the two victims were anything other than two innocent victims that were subjected to a horrible ordeal.

"Rochester police are investigating whether the two University of Rochester football players abducted and beaten earlier this month were targeted as retribution for a drug-related robbery — a robbery neither student was involved in but was allegedly committed by a former teammate and fellow student."

Exactly. This case illustrates why we have a justice system and vigilante justice is illegal. It was a terrible thing for those 2 innocent young man to endure and it cannot be undone.

This case was on this week's show "Evil Talks" on Investigation Discovery (the episode is Torture Trap). The reason for the mistaken identity was that a teammate of the two abductees used one of the victim's apartments when he was out of town. While staying at the apartment, he ripped off a drug dealer for 4# of marijuana.
