Patrick Fitzpatrick was last seen in Bozeman on July 3. His vehicle and trailer were discovered abandoned in a rural area the next day.

Odd case.

Montana expands hunt for missing retired Bismarck doctor

Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said his department was called by a lieutenant in Bozeman, Mont., after it was learned that Dr. Patrick Fitzpatrick left a van parked in front of Dakota Tackle, 2205 E. Bismarck Expressway.

Fitzpatrick then took a truck and trailer to Montana, where it was found abandoned in the Three Forks, Mont., area on July 3.

last Saturday 26 searchers and eight dogs again searched a field south of the town of Willow Creek, where Dr. Patrick Fitzpatrick's abandoned vehicle was found on July 4, 2015.

A bloodhound located Fitzpatrick's remains on a rolling hillside about a mile from where his vehicle was found. Gootkin says searchers had looked in the area for four days in July 2015 and attempted another search in March 2017. Late last month they tried again.

There is no indication of foul play.
