Police seek missing man in Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania -
"Police are looking for a Bloomsburg man who appears to have gone missing as he was preparing newspapers for delivery early Thursday morning, his girlfriend says.

Police have been searching in the area of the river after Steven Whitenight's black, two-door coupe was found parked at the Bloomsburg Airport, near the East Bloomsburg Bridge.

While there’s no indication that Whitenight, 30, seeks to harm himself, since his car was parked nearby, it seemed a logical place to search, said Bloomsburg Police Chief Roger Van Loan.

No one has seen or heard from Whitenight since about 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Girlfriend Michelle Zeiber said she last saw Steven Whitenight, 30, of West Main Street, Bloomsburg, around 1 a.m. Thursday, after his shift at Domino's Pizza. When she woke up around 7 a.m, she found newspapers in their house ready to be delivered, but Whitenight was missing."

The search Thursday was hampered by the weather. It was too dangerous for a fire department boat to enter the water due to ice, Van Loan said.

Other departments in the county were notified, but as of Thursday afternoon Van Loan said Whitenight was considered to be a adult who had been missing for less than 24 hours.http://www.pressenterpriseonline.com/breakingnews/police-seek-missing-man-in-bloomsburg
What kind of antiquated crap is that?

Some parts of the area had a dusting of snow last night. I wonder if Steven could have run into trouble driving, God forbid.

Oh, I see his car was parked at the airport near a bridge. So that eliminates trouble driving. With the cold weather, you would not want to be outside too long.

I would like to believe he left town via the airport, but someone would know. Lets be optimistic and hope he got a ride somewhere with a friend, and went skiing or something. But you know what, he was ready to deliver newspapers.

Hum I can't think of anything bad that could have happened.
I really pray this young man is found unharmed.

This may be a super long shot, but he is shown wearing a Denver Broncos sweatshirt. Could he be headed to watch them in the playoffs?

Following. I hope they thought to dust the car. If he was a paper guy he'd have a routine and anyone could know it. Maybe jacked the car...maybe he pulled in to snooze...

The girlfriend apparently took a break from FB, according to his FB page and she is again posting on her own page.

I'm afraid this one isn't going to end well. I've never read an article that right away goes to we'll start looking here in case he harmed himself. (paraphrased from above link) I sure hope they aren't getting tunnel vision and not looking at other possibilities. However, I think there may be something to that first thought. If this man was working two jobs. delivering pizza and delivering newspapers I'm sure he's just getting by (unless he was independently wealthy) and could have caused some stress. I wonder if Steve's gf knows of any problems.

I hope he's found safe, sound and warm but I have my doubts.

I'm confused by the two sentences I bolded. If his gf last saw him at around 1 am, who saw or heard from him later at 3.30 am?

There appears to be more to the story, but I can't access the newspaper. Here's the link that shows the headline:

http://www.pressenterpriseonline.com/breakingnews/missing-man-had-misled-girlfriend-on-house-purchase-she-says

The girlfriend is no longer posting on his FB, her previous comments are gone and it seems she's dropped her FB account.

The headline:

Missing man had misled girlfriend on house purchase, she says

I hope they checked whether he took a flight somewhere?

If this guy wanted to disappear intentionally, why would he leave his car, especially given he was working 2 jobs? Where would he go?
