NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have responded to the reported murder of a prominent Metro Health Department doctor in Belle Meade.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a man with a cut on his hand walked into the station and said he had just killed his wife.

His name is William Thomas Trudo, and officials said after he told police he killed his wife around just after 1 p.m. Thursday; yet, refused to say anything else or answer any other questions.

The Belle Meade police chief says Sandra's husband, 44-year-old William Thomas-Trudo, showed up to a Metro police department precinct today and turned himself in for this murder. He is being charged with her murder.

It is unclear at this point how long the Sandra has been dead. Police say she was stabbed to death.

The police chief says this is the first murder Belle Meade has seen for at least 30 years

There are no prior domestic incidents reported.

Holy wow! If I were a well-respected, married female doctor living in a community where murders haven't occurred in several decades.. I might be feeling a tad paranoid now!

A well-known New York female pediatrician was stabbed to death at home by her husband this week, too. Wonder if that is where this guy got the idea?
