Wish there was more information that could help give a few clues of the circumstances.

Not sure why people are sometimes reluctant to provide more information.

I think it really helps to give extra info because it helps people get more interested in helping to find the person.

Sometimes in these short brief articles I think some people pass up the news article. Having more info may help gather more attention to help find him.

Hope he is found safe.

This information would only be helpful if you happened to know this young man, or were with him at a party or something before he went missing. The info about his tattoos might trigger someone who saw him a few days ago and spoke to him.

I'm curious why Equusearch has moved SO quickly in this case, unless the family has search members and they have a close personal connection.

Edited to add: never mind. The family posting in the above KTRK link answered these questions.

Harris County Sheriff's Office and Texas Equusearch need your help in finding a missing Harris County man.Michael Calvert, 29, was last seen Friday in east Harris County.

The information is so vague about where he went missing in East Harris Co. I really wish they would give a more specified address for people to be able to help them out.

The tattoos will be an easy way to identify him when someone comes across him.

So it seems like Equusearch is helping by posting the information on their website and their contacts, but they're not sending actual searchers? I'm just reading between the lines.

On the KTRK Houston facebook page (linked above by ClaireNC) the family says they need searchers and there are only 6 searchers so far. I guess you have to PM the searchers, there isn't a specific meeting place listed.

There was a body of a man found in a drainage ditch in Katy, west Harris County.

Deputies say the victim was found with no pants on and no identification. He was lying on his back with his arms crossed.

Investigators say initial indications are that the man, a white or Hispanic male in his 30s, died of blunt force trauma.

This poor family has gotten zero help at all from anyone except friends, with the sheriff's department flatly refusing any help at all.

According to a facebook post on the KTRK link above, today cadaver dogs will be making their first appearance this morning.

Also most of those businesses along the water front seem to have quite a bit of security, cameras on poles, high fencing, etc...this late though I doubt any footage is available. There is a park not far from there that I've heard can be a bit rough. Easy access to the water, they have it set up for fishing. Houston is warm but not warm enough for a swim in the San Jac in January.

Michael J Calvert from Houston, Texas has been missing a little over a year now. No one has seen him or heard from him since the night of January 22nd, 2016. The last thing we know Michael did was eat dinner with his family, help shower his kids, and lay them down to bed with his wife, Mandy. That morning when Mandy woke up to awake Michael to go to work she noticed he wasn't there but his clothes that were laid out from the night before and his wallet were still there. Mandy went outside and saw Michael’s car was still where it was too. Michael was known to walk places so that was a possibility.
Later that day, Mandy went and took the kids to school and called Michaels mom saying she didn't know where Michael was and wanted to know if she has talked to him. Michaels mom, Connie Calvert, told Mandy to look out into the yard cause a few months before when Michael was staying with his mother He apparently went out into her yard stripped all his clothes off and went into the woods for hours and came back covered in poison ivy. Mandy just hearing about this did what Michael's mother suggested although the grass was very tall and walked into the woods near her house.
A good distance away from their house Mandy found Michael's clothes he went to bed in; Pajama pants, hoodie, underwear, his shoes, and inside them his phone. His phone wasn't activated. Michael only used his phone to listen to music he downloaded onto his phone or for an alarm clock. Mandy immediately called Michael's mom and then Harris County Police Department. The Police treated Michael as a drug addict because they informed him he used to smoke Synthetic Marijuana (also known as Spice or Kush) so the Police told them to call back later if he didn't show up. There was still no word from Michael so Mandy contacted HCPD again and made a missing person report.
Michael worked at OFS Solid Waste Services, INC in Channelview, TX. He didn't have many friends he stayed to himself and to his family. Michael didn't even have any social media accounts. Michael Calvert is known to be a very caring and loving person. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back. Michael turned 30 this past November. He is 5’ 8” and weighs 150 lbs. Michael has brown hair, brown eyes and tattoos. One tattoo is on his back of his kids names “Cameron and Chloe” and the other is “Toyota” on his right arm. Michael also has a scar over his left eyebrow. Michael clothes were found SW of Sheldon Lake. If you know of Michael J Calvert’s whereabouts are any information regarding Michael please contact Harris County Sheriff Office at (713) 274-9360 or contact Equusearch at (287) 309-9500 or Message The Search for Michael J Calvert at www.facebook.com/ThesearchforMichaelJCalvert

Did they ever send divers into Sheldon Lake? Michael might not have been bothered by the temperatures but succumbed to them nevertheless.

Snipped.

Michaels mom, Connie Calvert, told Mandy to look out into the yard cause a few months before when Michael was staying with his mother He apparently went out into her yard stripped all his clothes off and went into the woods for hours and came back covered in poison ivy.

Sounds like a possible psychotic break down?

Like Eainera said I wonder if they ever sent divers into the Lake? Got to be a good shout.
