Lycoming County Neighbors Wonder About Missing Daughter

Canton, Pennsylvania -
After a violent home invasion and arson in Lycoming County Thursday, the big question on the minds of many friends and neighbors is where is Michelle?

The Inch family home is boarded up. The state police fire marshal believes the fire that happened at the home near Montoursville is arson.

State police say Brian Vroman and Michael Houseweart are responsible. The two face a long list of charges including robbery and attempted homicide.

"Well, where is she?" asked Michelle's friend Tiffany Harris. "I contacted one of our mutual friends and she was like, 'I didn't even know she was missing.'"

From the link above:

We learned from the search warrant filed on Michael Houseweart's house, that the day before the incident, both victims and their daughter reported checks being stolen.

Those checks were written out and cashed by Houseweart in Canton. We also learned Houseweart was depressed over messages exchanged with his girlfriend Michelle Inch, over Facebook.

The fire at the couple's home on Sechler Drive broke out about 3 a.m. after Houseweart and Vroman, both wearing masks, allegedly woke up the Inches, threatened them with a rifle, restrained them with duct tape and set the house on fire using gasoline. The couple's 31-year-old daughter, Michelle, had been staying at her parents' home at 199 Sechler Drive for some time until this week. Police were "actively looking" for Michelle Inch because they wanted to question her and they were concerned "about her safety". She was last seen with Houseweart in Canton at his home about 5 p.m. Tuesday," police said. That would be about 10 hours before the home invasion.

"We have no knowledge of Michelle's involvement (in the crimes) at this time," police said.

"We did locate her vehicle, a 2003 Honda Accord, along a set of railroad tracks outside Canton early this morning,." police said.

Court records state that police have obtained surveillance video from Walmart in Montoursville showing Houseweart and Vroman in Michelle's car and "purchasing duct tape and gloves at about 1:38 a.m. Wednesday," about 90 minutes before the home invasion.

State police were out again Friday afternoon searching north of Williamsport, but so far there's still no sign of Michelle Inch.

Pictures from a viewer were taken at Rose Valley Lake in the Trout Run area Friday afternoon. Divers were in the water while investigators were searching the area where Michelle Inch was known to go.

Friends are also planning searches.

Houseweart was not married, had two children and was self-employed at his own construction business. His criminal record includes an arrest for unlawful use of a computer.

Vroman was single, living with his parents and working a job delivering newspapers. He was convicted in 2010 on a charge of resisting arrest.

Hopefully they are looking in the right place. There are miles and miles and miles of woods in that area.

Missing Lycoming County woman feared victim of foul play, state police say
A missing Lycoming County woman is feared to have been the victim of foul play, state police say.

Their suspicion is based on blood found on the outside of Michelle Lynn Inch's abandoned car, found about 8 a.m. Thursday in a rural area outside Canton in Bradford County, investigators said Saturday.

She was last seen about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Canton area with her boyfriend, Michael James Houseweart, who police said she drove home since she was not working that day.

Since her disappearance, every place Houseweart and she were known to have gone has been searched, Cpl. Joseph Akers, a state police crime supervisor at Montoursville said.

People were out all Friday night, he said. Divers checked Rose Valley Lake in northern Lycoming County Friday afternoon.

The cell phone belonging to the 31-year-old woman, described as 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, went dead Tuesday and there has been no activity on her credit or bank cards, police said.

Authorities have been searching for Michelle Inch in both Lycoming and Bradford counties after finding blood on the outside of her vehicle which was found in Canton on Thursday.

"Bring Michelle home." Those three words motivated one group in Bradford County to search for Michelle in some woods which are part of the Tioga State Forest near Canton.

Canton is about an hour north of Montoursville.

Search for Missing Woman Expands to Tioga County

Inch has been missing since last Tuesday after her boyfriend Michael Houseweart and another man allegedly broke into her parent’s home, tied them up with duct tape, and set their home on fire.

State police tell us they were able to trace both Michelle Inch’s phone and Houseweart’s phone to an area near Blossburg. That cell phone activity was sometime Tuesday night after Inch was last seen in Canton.

Troopers have shifted their focus to a 10-mile radius between Canton and Hamilton Township.

Information obtained Friday from the cell phones of Houseweart and Inch resulted in an extensive but unsuccessful search Monday between Morris Run in Tioga County and Canton in Bradford County.

Searches also have been conducted in areas where the two had been known to frequent, including Rose Valley Lake in northern Lycoming County.

The day Inch disappeared she drove Houseweart to Canton.
