Since there is DNA for Linda could it be compared to baby Jane Doe?

Linda's death record: (no doubt a paperwork formality as she is still officially listed as missing)

This is my mother. How can I go about checking the DNA for
The baby. Did anyone report what happened to the mother?

Welcome to WS. I am so sorry your mother is still missing. As to the baby, here is the Namus link to the baby's case. I would suggest contacting the investigator or Namus contact to find out if there is DNA for the baby.

I would like to talk to you and have you talk to my mom. Our moms were good friends and coworkers. One of the last times they talked your mom asked my mom to get a photo of you and your brother from her office. My mom still has the photo. Please let me know if you would be willing to talk, and I will find a way to get you my personal details.

No exclusions listed on Linda’s NamUs profile :( I hope it’s because they just haven’t been entered. I’ve been looking at a Jane Doe from Michigan for a little while now and it seems like she could be Linda...

My observations based on information known in both cases:
-Linda disappeared from Dallas, Texas around November 8, 1985 when she was 8 months pregnant.
-Linda would have given birth around the first part of December 1985.
-UID was discovered in Detroit, Michigan on February 10, 1987, just a few days after her death.
-UID was lactating, had a recent episiotomy scar, and was estimated to have given birth between 8 weeks to 1 year prior to her death.
-In February 1987 Linda’s child would have been right around a year and 2 months old (14 months) (give or take a couple of weeks).
-From what I understand, lactating 14 months after giving birth is not unheard of, though I’m not certain.
-Linda would have been a few years older than what the UID is estimated to be. Depending on when Linda weighed 160-170 pounds, that could have been pregnancy weight that was lost by the time the UID was found and weighing 114 pounds. Linda shows to be 3 inches taller, if that’s the correct height. Eye color, hair color and style match. I was able to find a few other photos of Linda that resemble the sketch of UID more than some of the others. JMOO
I guess a few questions would be, how did she come to be in Michigan? And what happened to her baby?

Happy Birthday, Mom, wherever you are!

Dallas Police Department, I hope you have changed your policies and do a better job of investigating other missing person cases. For those that don’t know my mother, Linda Ann House went missing on November 8, 1985. At the time she was 8 months pregnant at the time with her then boyfriend's child. His name was James “Jim” Watkins. He worked for a place in Dallas called Watkins and Associates, I believe it was an architectural firm. The little that I have been told by authorities was that they contacted Mr. Watkins and he first denied knowing her. The next time they approached him he had directed them to talk to his attorney. To our family’s knowledge, that is where it stopped. On that day, we didn’t just lose a mother, a daughter, a sister, or a friend, but we also lost my soon to be sister. A few years back I went to speak with the Department of Public Safety as they have this case as well. They took my DNA to run in the national cadaver lab but nothing matched. They said that their cold case department would look into it. After me calling them multiple times their response was, no new leads. Well of course there won’t be any new leads until you go out and find them. I think enough is enough and I will start my own investigation into finding out what happened. If anyone knows of an organization that helps in these types of cases please PM me. If anyone knows anyone in law enforcement that can be of any assistance please PM me. Feel free to share. #justiceforLindaHouse

Thank you for joining the thread! I’m terribly sorry about your mother and sister and the lack of investigation into their disappearance. I’m glad to see you looking into it! There are many great people here who would help in any way they can...so feel free to ask.

I would recommend becoming a verified insider here on WS so that you’re able to speak freely about your mother and her case without having to quote or link specific sources. Here is the information on that process; Verified Professional and Insider Members

Thanks again!
