He was tried and convicted in the murders of three women in 1986. All three convictions were overturned.

Now, accused serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin is back on trial for one of those cases. Jury selection began Monday in his third trial for the murder of Natalie "Blanche" Holley.

Detectives say Bolin abducted and killed Holley, 25, in January of 1986. He's also accused of killing 17-year-old Stephanie Ann Collins. Bolin is currently serving time for murdering Teri Lynn Matthews. He was retried and convicted for the 26-year-old’s death in 2001, his third trial in that case.

Holley's mother said she couldn't go through it all again without the support of the other victims’ mothers.

At what was to have been the sentencing of convicted killer Oscar Ray Bolin Jr. Monday, the sister of one of his victims unleashed a six-minute tirade against Bolin and his wife.

In the end, Bolin's sentencing for second-degree murder in the 1986 slaying of Natalie Blanche Holley was postponed until today to give attorneys more time for legal research.

But Holley's half-sister, Anita Holley, couldn't wait. Standing in the courtroom, she blasted Bolin, 43, and his wife, Rosalie, a former Hillsborough County death penalty mitigation expert who married him on death row. She helped him successfully appeal three separate murder convictions over the years.

Oscar Ray Bolin Jr. is going away - again.

Three trials and nearly 20 years after he stabbed Natalie Blanche Holley to death, a Hillsborough judge said Tuesday the convicted killer will live out his days behind bars.

Last week, a jury found Bolin guilty of second-degree murder after his third trial for the Jan. 25, 1986, killing of Holley, 25. Originally charged with first-degree murder, the verdict allowed Bolin, 43, to escape the death penalty in this case, although he returns to death row where he still faces execution for another homicide.

Hillsborough Circuit Judge Barbara Fleischer sentenced Bolin to life in prison Tuesday. The sentence was a relief for Holley's half-sister, Anita Holley, who was outraged by the jury's verdict Friday. A day before Bolin was sentenced, she delivered a vitriolic tirade against him, calling him a "poisonous insect" and a "gold mine of human obscenity" worthy of extermination. She also had a few choice words for his wife, Rosalie Bolin, a capital punishment mitigation expert who married the death row inmate

Serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin faces fourth trial in Natalie Holley's slaying

Three previous convictions and two death sentences for Holley's murder did not survive appeals. Bolin has been brought back from death row for a fourth attempt at a Holley conviction that sticks. It's no longer a death penalty case. The charge is second-degree murder.

What gets me about the two articles I read here is that neither on of them mentioned that Rosalie Bolin also left her children too for the sake of this serial killer. Sickening. The other thing that gets me is how often the serial killer has had sentence's overturned just to be tried again and again.

Oscar Ray Bolin was first found guilty of murdering three women nearly 30 years ago. In the decades since, every one of the verdicts delivered by juries in three separate trials was reversed at least twice by appeals courts, although ultimately he was convicted again in each case: 10 times by 10 juries, to be exact.

It now appears Bolin's legal pleas are coming to an end.

Unless an appeals court or the U.S. Supreme Court steps in, Bolin, 53, will be executed Thursday at 6 p.m. in Florida State Prison for the 1986 slaying of Teri Lynn Matthews.

There was once an article about this twist having more lives than cats!

As the clock ticks downs to 6pm Thursday, may there be no last minute - anythings! His date with Ole' Sharpie is long overdue.

Wonder if he's killed anyone else ? :(

Those poor families... my heart goes out to them tonight !
Rest in gentle peace, Natalie, Stephanie and Teri. They might be moms and maybe grandmas by now.

I can't post what I think of the woman who married R.B. Sickening.
Even if she didn't think he murdered anyone-- she's o.k. with the woman he raped and terrorized before letting her go ?

The Latest: Supreme Court denies killer's execution appeal

A Florida inmate convicted of killing three women in 1986 was executed Thursday night. Oscar Ray Bolin, 53, was the first inmate executed in 2016. He was executed after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his last-ditch appeal for a stay. The time of death was 10:16 p.m., The Associated Press reported...

Bolin had been scheduled to be executed at 6 p.m., but it was delayed while the Supreme Court considered his appeal for a stay. The high court rejected the stay in a decision issued shortly before 10 p.m.

She walked off and left her family for this . She was on CA case for awhile.

I scared myself clapping and screaming "Yes!" when I found out he left this world. He lied to the bitter end. Thank you Supreme Court for refusing to hear his pitiful plea.

Sorry this is posted late (I posted these on wrong thread by mistake)

Long wait for justice nears end for families of serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin Jr.'s victims (with clip)

"For Kathleen Reeves, the pain has never gone away.

Not after she buried her 26-year-old daughter in 1986. Not after her killer was tried and convicted the first time, and then twice more. Not after he drew three death sentences.

And Reeves has no reason to think the pain will end Thursday, when she plans to watch Oscar Ray Bolin Jr. die.

"It will never be over," she said last week while visiting her daughter's grave in Spring Hill...

The grave lies in the shade of two tall oaks with Spanish moss dangling from their branches. A placard notes that she was a beloved daughter. Above her name is an inscription:

Step Softly.

A Dream

Lies Buried

Here."

Florida serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin Jr.'s date with death finally nears

".."The bride stood in a pink gown beside a priest in a Gainesville apartment. A 5x7 photograph of the groom sat on the kitchen counter. His voice was piped in on a speakerphone, a collect call from the Pasco County jail.

That's how 12 million TV viewers watched serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin Jr. say "I do."

The 1996 wedding of Bolin and Rosalie Martinez, a onetime member of his defense team who left her prominent lawyer-husband to marry a man destined for death row, was a spectacle recounted in countless news stories.

But before the bizarre nuptials, before the murder trials, the retrials and appeals, before the eight death sentences and two life sentences, there was the long-haul truck driver known as "Needles" and the three young women who had the misfortune of crossing his path.

Bolin, 53, is now set to die by lethal injection on Jan. 7..."

Byron Smith's attorneys file appeal in Little Falls murder case

"Defense attorneys for Byron Smith, who was convicted of killing two teenage intruders in his Little Falls home, filed an appeal Monday with the Minnesota Supreme Court arguing that Smith's trial was riddled with mistakes from the original indictment, through the trial and right up to the prosecutor's closing arguments.

In a 51-page brief, attorneys said that a series of missteps in Smith's prosecution began with the way the case was presented to a grand jury four months after he shot 18-year-old Haile Kifer and 17-year-old Nick Brady, who broke into his home on Thanksgiving Day in 2012..."

Justices had many questions about Byron Smith trial
Published October 8, 2015 at 10:22 pm

"The Appeal Hearing for Byron Smith to the Minnesota Supreme Court took place Sept. 3, 2015. Justice Lillehaug began to question the Morrison County District Court trial procedure of closing the trial to rescind witnesses from the defense list. Justice David Stras stated that he was “troubled by this closure.” Justice Christopher Dietzen questioned this violation of court rules governing closed hearings to the public as the courtroom closure was “dropped on top of everyone without any notice to anybody.”..
Members of The Citizens for Justice, Inc. are hoping and praying that the Justices will order a new trial. As the quote from JFK states, our nation was founded on equal rights to all men."

Oscar Ray Bolin On Eve Of Execution: 'They Can't Hurt Me No More'

"...On Wednesday, Oscar Ray Bolin told the Fox 13 television station that he's innocent. "I didn't know 'em, never seen 'em, never met 'em," he said of the three victims.
Bolin told the TV station that evidence used to convict him was both tampered with and planted.

"My conscience is clear," he told the TV station. "I'm at peace with myself. It's my release. My punishment's over.'

"I didn't do it, you're not going to believe me, fine," he said, adding that "After 28 years of this, being in this box for 28 years, it's a release. My punishment's over. They can't hurt me no more.".."

Mom Awaits Execution of Convicted Serial Killer Oscar Ray Bolin

"When Kathleen Reeves visited her murdered daughter's grave on what would have been her 55th birthday, she brought flowers. Rolled up inside the bouquet was the newly signed death warrant for convicted serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin.

"It's the last thing I can do for her," Reeves, 78, said through tears...

Bolin, 53, who is best known for his televised wedding to a legal assistant after his death sentence, has filed a new round of appeals to stop the lethal injection, which would be the first of 2016 after executions dropped to a record low last year...

Reeves, who is now widowed and has outlived all three of her children, said she has no doubt that Bolin kidnapped and killed her daughter — but she's also bracing for another last-minute delay.

"I'm always prepared for Rosalie to pull a rabbit out of the hat," Reeves said.

She was talking about Rosalie Bolin, who was a married mother of four daughters working in the public defender's office when she fell for the death-row inmate. They were wed by phone in 1996, with cameras rolling, and she has been crusading to free him ever since...

Reeves said she resents the spotlight the unconventional romance has received.

"It was taking the attention off what he had done and putting it on the criminal, like he was some sort of superstar and she was the superstar's angel," she said. "The attention should be on the victim."..."
