The head of Texas Equusearch told reporter Ashley Goudeau that Houston police's homicide division is investigating the case. Equusearch began actively searching for them Wednesday afternoon.

Gibson has a tattoo of "Betty Boop" on the outside calf of her leg. Taylor has a thin mustache and several tattoos. Police are unsure what type, style and color of clothing they were last seen wearing.

Spoke too soon.

Does anyone else find it strange that not one media outlet has reported them missing?
I thought it was strange, too, so got on the horn and contacted a few. As of this afternoon ABC 13 and KPRC are there at the search and just talked with KHOU and they are out there, too.

Is it standard practice for homicide department to investigate the dissapearnce?

I am by no means an expert, but from my observations, homicide often investigates disappearances if there is supposition that foul play is involved. I believe this occurs to protect the integrity and continuity of the investigation if and when the worst-case scenario occurs.

According to police, Taylor and Gibson left Houston on Friday and arrived in Austin to attend the Urban Festival for the weekend. They were both last seen early Saturday morning after leaving Taylor's cousin's house to go to a club.

They have since been reported missing to the Austin Police Department.

On Tuesday, a vehicle belonging to one of them was found in Houston, but both Taylor and Gibson remain missing.

A relative using the Find My Phone app pinpointed Taylor's cell phone to Bear Creek Park in northwest Houston. Family and friends gathered Wednesday to search the area.

"He was a proud father and devoted husband. This is definitely out of character. This is not something he would do," friend Calvin Davis said. "I called and texted him. His phone was dead and he didn't reply. That's definitely not him."

They went to a club that night and then never made it back to the friend’s house that they were even going to spend the night at, so their clothes and everything are still at that friend’s house. Do we have reason to be concerned? I think we have a lot of reason to be concerned,” said Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch, the group helping to lead the search.

Taylor’s car was found abandoned in midtown Houston with no sign of the pair and no warning they were coming back to town. Friends are afraid something went very wrong.

“To me, it’s foul play,” said Davis. “I just can’t see anything else that he would disappear. He’s a good friend, loyal friend.”

Taylor is married with four kids. Gibson has two children and friends said they’re both devoted parents who would never leave without warning.

“This is not anything that I could see them just like, ‘Oh, you know.’ No it’s not that, because they both have good jobs, families, children to provide for, so this is something totally different, definitely,” said Davis.

Now while fear is beginning to creep in, loved ones are holding onto something stronger: hope, as they turn every stone.

Friends and family are worried the pair never left Austin. Austin Police are working with Houston Police and both agencies are asking anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
