Meadow family victimized by extreme case of cyber bullying

Garza says one day Mia whispered in her ear and that's when the text message came, asking what Mia had whispered to her mother.

They say the threats have extended to the entire family so they all sleep in their small living room at night on mattresses.

This is crazy. And my first thought is they need to check their house for bugs. Secretly installed cameras, microphones, stuff like that. Crazy.

It is weird. It sounds like something more then just a case of cyber bullying. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t think we are getting the entire story. IMHO.

OMG.....this poor family! At least they have LE support so I hope the perp(s) is/are caught quickly. I can't imagine the fear they are living in.

I really hope we'll hear more about this, I'm very curious as to what's going on. You'd think they'd have set up some cameras by now to catch whoever sneaks around their house... but maybe they're keeping that on the down-low.

Wondering if they have one of those video baby monitors and someone is keeping an eye on them through it? Hope LE digs good and figures this one out.

Now the Terry County Sheriff's office tells KCBD because of the online nature of this bullying, they and the attorney general's office are not the only ones investigating this case.

"We also have contacted the Texas Rangers and the Attorney General's office to assist us with this investigation," said Terry County Sheriff Larry Gilbreath. "The problem you run into with cases like this is tracking the cyber part of this thing."

The messages tell Mia she’s worthless and the Instagram account says “Once Mia is dead. Or Gone. I’ll stop. Its plain and simple,” according to a photo the family provided for KCBD.

However, after their story aired on Tuesday night, Mia's father says people from all over the U.S. have expressed support.

"I didn't believe it at first, but she started showing me everybody who was messaging her - everyone who was friend requesting her sharing the video and everything - it made me feel really awesome," Mia said.
