:bump:

I hope Ambrose is ok and just taking a break. Praying for his family and that he is found safe soon .

It sounds like foul play is what happened to him. I'm not getting a "run off" vibe. I do hope they do find him. I'm sure hope I'm wrong.

Chicago police have no evidence pointing to anything criminal, but are continuing to investigate.

His credit cards, everything stopped Thursday. The air conditioner and a fan was on in his apartment in the 5500 block of South Everett Avenue. The refrigerator was full of groceries he’d recently purchased.

Ambrose was not depressed and one of the last times he spoke to his brother, Ambrose was the one trying to make him feel better.

One of Ambrose’s acquaintances said that on April 22, the day after the brothers last talked, he saw Ambrose walking towards the library and greeted him but Ambrose didn’t respond. “My brother just walked on.’’, said Ambrose's brother. The friend said Ambrrose “looked a little bit upset, or angry.’’.

My first thought was "Hope he didn't harm himself" sadly. Hope I'm so wrong.

The last thing I would do if I was losing it would be grocery shopping. I wonder if he got some bad news? He likely already knows what internship/residency placement he is heading to at the end of June. Did something happen with his placement?
He is so close to receiving his MD degree! I just have a bad, foul-play feeling.

This one is really creeping me out. I get the foul play vibes too - but, depression and suicidal tendencies can really be hidden, especially when you probably have some amount of exposure to the behaviors you're supposed to be hiding :(

If the acquaintance's recollection of this sighting of Ambrose is accurate, this last sighting could be an important clue. What caused Ambrose to be upset or angry, and presumably so preoccupied he didn't hear his friend's greeting?

I wonder if Ambrose had his cell phone on his person. Can the phone be pinged to determine its location?

I hope there is some good cctv footage that can shed some light on his movements

One thing that caught my attention is that (and I can only speak of posts that are for public viewing) Ambrose posted two photos on April 20th, the day before he and his brother last spoke (and also the day on which he was last confirmed to have been seen, though "acquaintances" reportedly saw him on the 22nd); prior to that, his last public post was on December 20, 2014. It could be a coincidence, but my hunch is that it isn't ....

I think the key to this is his studies. I wonder if something threw a monkey wrench into his planned graduation? It would explain the angry look while heading across campus. Has there been any word from the medical school? Because they are not bound by FERPA (being in Mexico) and could shed some much-needed light on this disappearance.

Ambrose Monye, a University of Guadalajara med-student on a two-year rotation at Jackson Park Hospital, 7531 S. Stony Island Ave., was last seen on April 22 near 55th Street and Lake Park Avenue.

Police originally stated that Monye was last seen as he walked toward the University of Chicago’s (U. of C.) John Crerar Library in the 5700 block of South Ellis Avenue.

Joseph Monye noted his brother was preparing to take the second part of his U.S. medical licensing exam, but said Ambrose -- who was planning to apply for a cardiology residency -- was well accustomed to high pressure.

"His cap and gown graduation photos were already taken," he said. "He wouldn’t jeopardize that for anything in the world. He worked so hard to get to that point."

Monye said he last spoke with his brother on April 21 and described the conversation as "pretty normal." "It was just him asking me how my rotation is going. He was asking if I was doing OK," Monye said. "I made some jokes with him about the doctors and some nurses. He seemed totally normal to me."

Police currently have "no leads" in the case.

Monye's last purchases were $75 worth of groceries and a Kaplan study book.

<Respectfully snipped by me for brevity>

I am not sure if the same rules apply to Ambrose since he is attending a medical school in Mexico, but "Match Day" was March 18th this year, so under normal circumstances, he should have known where he was going to be doing his residency by now ....
