Cassandra was last seen in Buras, Louisiana on April 1, 1988. She left on a motorbike with a man named David,
headed for Alabama. She has never been heard from again. In July of that year, her loved ones got a phone call
from someone named Salvatore. Salvatore said he worked at a seafood boat in Buras, drove a green truck with a
camper top, and lived with Cassandra in Mobile, Alabama, in a rural home with no neighbors for miles. Salvatore
stated he and Cassandra had gotten into an argument and she left to take a walk and cool down, leaving her
cigarettes and purse behind, and never returned. She has never been heard from again. Westwego, Louisiana police
are investigating

I wonder why she was leaving with anyone her parents didn't know. Just a feeling but I expect this Salvatore creep is some person looking for attention.

Details of Disappearance

Cassandra was last seen in Buras, Louisiana on April 1, 1988. She left on a motorbike with a man named David, headed for Alabama. She has never been heard from again.

In July of that year, her loved ones got a phone call from someone named Salvatore. Salvatore said he worked at a seafood boat in Buras, drove a green truck with a camper top, and lived with Cassandra in Mobile, Alabama, in a rural home with no neighbors for miles.

Salvatore stated he and Cassandra had gotten into an argument and she left to take a walk and cool down, leaving her cigarettes and purse behind, and never returned. She has never been heard from again. Westwego, Louisiana police are investigating.

My own impression

She left with David or with Salvatore?

I also wonder why Sal would call her family ( was he unknown to the family?) if so why did he get the number and if he killed her, which is possible why would he call them to show his guilt? Did the LE ever follow up this?

My own impression is that SAL does not exist. David or someone she knew killed her and tried to lure her parents by inventing this mysery SAL.

Today is Cassandra’s birthday. She has been missing for 34 years this year.

This is Cassandra’s youngest Brother, I just came upon this site and thread. It’s a very complex situation and I was only 7 yrs old at the time. Her parents were divorced (we have the same father). She was in and out of foster care along with 2 other full siblings. We all had pretty rough lives, we firmly believe in that Cassandra was more than likely killed by Salvatore, he was a fisherman and could have easily dumped her in the gulf. For years we searched, had private investigators, police and just about any resource we could find. She never had a driver’s license, job, other medical history after her disappearance. The accuracy of the information on the missing person’s document is also questionable. No one really knows if she willingly left with someone or not. It’s mostly speculation. The property in Alabama was searched and excavated. Nothing was found, she was there but probably not very long. Many people go missing near ports and this is no different. I am certain she would not have willingly stayed away from her siblings or her mother all these years. We were pretty close with one another.

Bumping, the 35th anniversary of Cassandra’s disappearance passed recently.
