DPSO seeks information on whereabouts of missing Logansport woman

DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing woman, identified as 21 year old Miranda Whitton of Logansport, LA.

A body has been discovered in a small pond along Old Mansfield Road in Logansport, DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle has confirmed.

The body is a female but an identification has not been made.

A body found in a pond in the Logansport area has been identified as Miranda Whitton, 21.

Final autopsy results are pending and the investigation into Whitton's death is ongoing.

A specific cause of death could not be determined because of the advanced decomposition of Miranda Whitton’s body, Lt. Adam Ewing said.

Results of toxicology tests performed at autopsy were received this week and revealed the presence of drugs in Whitton’s system...

Whitton’s death will remain an open case.
