A man who told police that he "freaked out" and left the scene of a fatal accident on his way home after a night of drinking on the South Side has pleaded guilty in connection with a young woman's death in Bloomfield.

Kyle O'Connor, 21, pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter, accidents involving death or personal injury-failure to stop, and careless driving resulting in unintentional death. He is scheduled for sentencing May 18.

Police said Jessica McChesney, 26, died of blunt force trauma after the crash, which happened near the corner of Baum Boulevard and Morewood Avenue at about 2:35 a.m. June 26.

Man Gets Slightly Less Than 1-2 Years For Fatal Hit-And-Run

An Allegheny County judge on Thursday sentenced 22-year-old Kyle OConnor to one year, less a day to two years, less two days incarceration. By keeping the maximum sentence less than two years, the judge enabled OConnor to serve the sentence in jail instead of state prison.
