On June 12, 1966, 27-year-old Philippe Guérin went missing from the Ontario Hospital, a psychiatric hospital located in the north end of North Bay and that has since been demolished...

At the time he was reported missing, Guérin was described as 5'-7" tall, with a medium build, short brown hair, brown eyes, and he had no upper teeth. When he was 10, Guérin was paralyzed by polio, and walked with a limp.

On Monday morning, the North Bay police service held a press conference asking anyone with information that could help locate Guerin to contact them. The 50-year-old case is the oldest unsolved missing persons file in the history of the North Bay Police Service.

Ontario Hospital was unaware of Guerin's disappearance for at least a month after it happened. He had been admitted to the hospital because he had become aggressive towards his parents...

The Widdifield Police followed a lead from a North Bay clergyman who picked up a hitchhiker matching Philippe's description in the Sudbury area, but this did not lead them anywhere.

Phillipe Guerin has been missing for 52 years. His disappearance is the oldest unsolved missing person in the city of North Bay, Ont. Canada. He is also counted among the persons missing from the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital. Philippe Guerin's brother went to visit him at the hospital, to introduce his fiance and share news of the upcoming wedding. Phillipe was no longer at the hospital and with further investigation it was learned, he hadn't been for approx. a month. He was reported missing to the Widdifield Police June 12, 1966.

  • North Bay Police are asking the public for help in solving the service's longest unsolved missing person case.

On June 12, 1966, 27-year-old Philippe Guérin went missing from the Ontario Hospital, a psychiatric hospital located in the north end of North Bay and that has since been demolished.

Hospital authorities reported him missing to the Widdifield Police Department via a letter of notification.

The Widdifield Police followed up on a lead from a North Bay clergyman who picked up a hitchhiker matching Guérin's description in the Sudbury area at Falconbridge.

The hitchhiker, who the clergyman dropped off at the junction of Highways 17 and 11, south of North Bay, said he was heading to Sacré-Coeur, Québec.

Widdifield Police were never able to locate Guérin and the investigation, now with the North Bay Police Service, remains unsolved.

At the time he was reported missing, Guérin was described as 5'-7" tall, with a medium build, short brown hair, brown eyes, and he had no upper teeth. When he was 10, Guérin was paralyzed by polio, and walked with a limp.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Detective Constable Roger Drolet at the North Bay Police Service by telephone at 705-497-5555.

For those who wish to remain anonymous, there are three ways to contact Near North Crime Stoppers: call 1-800-222- 8477, or visitnearnorthcrimestoppers.com for information on how to submit an anonymous tip by text or online.

Private Investigator seeking answers over missing persons cases at old psychiatric hospital - Timmins News

Snipped...
...They may be decades apart but Ellen White still sees unique parallels between six missing persons cases which all are tied to the old North Bay Psychiatric Hospital which was located on Highway 11 North, north of the city of North Bay.

Ellen White, is a private investigator who runs a podcast called “Whereabouts Unknown".

"The common link is they all happened at the old psychiatric hospital; the old building on the highway," said White, who is based out of Barrie.

The six, include Philippe Guerin (1966), Dawn Carisse (2001), Terry Zubko (1982), Norman Welsh (1976), Glen Wesley (2010) and Russell Hoffert (2000).

I wonder if he went west instead of east? 5 months later, an unidentified male in his 20s was found just over the border in Michigan. He also had no upper front teeth, and he had Canadian and US coins on him. They also both seem to have something odd about the space between their eyebrows.

Yeah, that could be a possibility. The descriptions align really well.
