PROVO — A hiker in a remote area of Provo Canyon found the skeletal remains of a person Saturday.

And after Provo police arrived in the area to investigate, they found a second body.

"We believe they are completely unrelated. We've confirmed that the initial body that was found is a 2012 case, a 41-year-old male that went missing," said Provo Police Lt. Mathew Siufanua.

Looked to see if there was any news on the second person. Nothing yet, last was April 21 where they had an idea who it is and where running DNA.

I'm getting a permission error on Jonathan Berry's NamUs profile, but can't find anything to confirm that the second set of remains was his. Which does seem most likely, but still...

I found an archived Salt Lake Tribune article that confirms Jakub Gorowski is one of the victims:

I'm not sure about Jonathan Berry. His Namus returns a permission error but his Charley page is still up (http://charleyproject.org/case/jonathan-david-berry) He does have a thread here,
with no updates (https://www.websleuths.com/forums/s...nathan-Berry-23-Rock-Canyon-Provo-1-June-2006). He's still listed as missing in local newspaper articles (such as this one, from Feb. 2018: https://www.heraldextra.com/jonathan-berry/article_881714df-bc50-55f8-a682-c8b0531d00e0.html)

That is so strange. UID is not in NamUs, and since Jonathan was taken off, could we assume...?

Maybe we should reach out to LEOs?

Yeah, a polite inquiry to LE or to the KSL news department seems to be in order. Jonathan's Charley page is still up.

The Provo Police 2015 annual report says the remains were identified as Berry
https://www.provo.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=8700

The remains of two missing people were discovered in Rock Canyon by a hiker exploring the area. One body was linked to a missing person, Jonathan Berry, who had been missing since 2006. The second set of remains belonged to a missing Polish exchange student, Jakub Gorowski.

Berry's Namus page is down but his Charley Project page is still up: Jonathan David Berry – The Charley Project
