A California mom took discipline to a cruel extreme when she left her three young kids in the desert on a day when broiling heat blasted the West.
Mary Bell, 34, and her boyfriend, 29-year-old Gary Cassle, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony child abuse after police found the children ages 5, 6 and 7 without shoes and water wandering a neighborhood in Twentynine Palms.
