Partial left foot found in sock by a fisherman.

Okay, a few things. One, how can they tell height from part of a foot? Even as someone who is learning about anatomy for my major I don't understand. Two, the probable year of death is the year that they found the foot, but they found it in May, so how could it have been one year? Three, what is with them finding left feet? There's another Doe that is only one left foot, too.

    My hometown!

The only missing person from Ledyard is Ryan Bistrup, but a) he went missing in 2011 and b) he was last seen on the other side of town, several miles away.

The foot was found in the Gales Ferry section of town, by the Thames River. Which means the victim could have gone into the water in Groton, New London, Norwich, Ledyard/Gales Ferry, Montville, Quaker Hill, Waterford, or Uncasville.

There are several well-known places right on the Thames, including Mohegan Sun casino, the Coast Guard Academy, the Groton/New London Submarine Base, General Dynamics/Electric Boat, several state parks, the New London train station, various beaches, the Harvard and Yale boathouses, and the old Norwich State Hospital. This person could have also jumped from the Gold Star Bridge or the railroad bridge that parallels it.

New London is right on the I-95 corridor, connecting Boston to New York and points beyond. So if this was a dump, the perp and victim could have come from anywhere.
